[QUOTE="hiccup"]The Minotaur boss rules he is so fun to ride on his back you always do a cowboy style with him. Yihaaa.-L-U-I-S-
me and my friend smashed him for hours untill we found out how to kill him, lol...
"hey there comes a bit more smoke out of his armor now, that must be a sign that he's almost dead" lol....
Minotaur..but the more I defeat Ares the more I begin to like his battle more...if only those cutscenes were optional and the checkpoint for the first round had been better placed...
~I don't like long buffers between battles...and Hydra feels empty...he has never been a challenge..but killing him is quite the beautiful sight even when compared to the greatest kills of GoW
About 6-8 years ago I used to play Dragonball GT: Final Bout and Final Fantasy VIII..both prepared me well in advance for any button mashing situation to such a degree that I have absolutely no problem with any such task...however they didn't really do anything to improve my patience or rythme so...I've got a little left to work on
~I'll never experience this downside to the mini-games (of mashing nature)
Yeah maybe. I think the reason I didn't find Ares as epic was because Kratos was the same size as him, wheras the other two he was fighting a bigger enemy than himself.Tyrant-666
I was trying to say he would have been my favorite battle *over time I came to enjoy our bouts* were it not for HAVING to watch the cutscenes everytime..despite Kratos being as big as Ares in the battle..
I actually was displeased in this part..in the cutscene when Ares says "You send a broken mortal to defeat ME!..The GOD of WAR?!" and Kratos hurls a thunderbolt at the chain holding Pandora's Box and it drops onto the sea (it can't sink for whatever reason..also Kratos walks on water!!)...How the **** does he get down quick enough...surely Ares would have enough brain cells to stop him from climbing down (He would have plenty of time to react) and Kratos couldn't have leaped down as he would die or be stopped anyway...Something should have happened here to stun Ares long enough AND explain how Kratos got down to get the box...perhaps making the fight 4 scenes long.
This is what I developed in between that scene and where Kratos opens the box:
Detailed Ares
RBP=Minigame Random Button Press (number of presses will be mentioned if needed)
Press=just once
Mash=think Final Hydra minigame
Setting-Where you were just before the cutscene began..and you'll be scaling the mountain [up the stairs].
This fight is scripted as you make your way up the mountain to the tip *I'll provid pictures showing each location later *possibly tonight* and may draw the other parts later
1. Ares Punches at the wall and you must avoid it *roll back*...you'll hear him swing and see his shadow
2. Next he will swing his left arm to the right and grab you *unavoidable* activating a scene (RBP) where if you fail he will crush you in his hand and toss you aside [dead] or succed in quickly stabbing his hand a few times and be dropped back where you were to continue Â
3. Now he'll lob a fireball at the wall holding up the path you are on creathing a gap to large to fully cross but just close enough to grapple the climbable base a little below the ledge. Here 6 undead legion spawn to try and kill you. While this is happening you are out of Ares' sight and he will gloat thinking you're dead. Get to the ledge top to continue.
4. After the camera view changes [You will now be in front of the Gateway used later to get to Olympus] you must get to the ledge where there is a Zeus' Fury icon (you have 5 seconds) to get there and throw a bolt (WHILE you are doing this he is arching back and charging a killing fire ball in this right hand with his left held out towards you. Hit him and then you may press O *it will hover over his hand*. If you don't get him with the bolt or grapple his hand he will just kill you. [your attack hit his face so he was stunned..also his left arm grabs the mountain you are on so you can just get on him easily]
*CHECKPOINT*
Now you are on Ares and must find a way down *most of this part functions as a minigame*
1. He'll try to grab you with his right hand while on his left forearm. RBP (fail and be grabbed [RBP and fail=you attach your blades to his hand only to get whipped into the mountain *dead* win=get to next step] or succeed and hook Right Forearm.
2. While swinging his right hand grabs you. RBP (Fail: Crushed Succeed: quick slash of and land of forearm then going for a diving stab into Right Shoulder)
3. You are on his shoulder and toss your left BoC into his opposite shoulder, then quickly impaling the right BoC into right side of Ares neck. You are now trying to swing to the other shoulder! RBP (Fail: Ares catches you and grinds you into a bloody snowball          Succeed: You make it across and immediatley tug the Blade in his neck across, slicing his neck open [which will stun him temporarily...].
 Â
*CHECKPOINT*
While he is recovering from your last attack (which can only hurt and NOT kill him as you are MORTAL) you will climb down his arm [Ares collapsed into a kneeling position of one knee with his left arm touching the ground] using the mesh in his forearm bands to make your descentÂ
1. Kratos dislodges his left blade and dives off Ares' shoulder armor whilst lodging a blade into the eye of one of the heads on shoulder guard (Cerburus heads) to swing into its mouth.
2. Press O to plant a blade into the mouth. You'll leap out then lower yourself on your chain (holding down of course) until you come within range of the forearm.
3. Kratos releases at max chain length automatically so you'll need to be ready to             press O grab his forearm.
4. Now DESCEND! (3 Harpies will interfere)
5. You are on the water now run to the box to activate the rest of the established cutscene! Â
If you should be too slow at any point in this Ares will kill you by tossing you from where ever you are into Athena's head *the statue holding the Blade of the Gods/Bridge*.Â
If you make it down and to the box Ares will stand in awe as you open the box *as seen in the cutscene when you grow*
SIMPLE versionÂ
You climb up to the top of the mountain dodging Ares' attacks. Stun him with a thunderbold at the top to climb on to him.  Go through a minigame (stunning him and presenting opportunity to get down) and descend *climb* to the box.Â
~I made this a while ago just because I wanted to make sense of Ares' lapse of intelligence in just waiting for Kratos to get the box...also how Kratos "magically" got to the boxÂ
I would like some helpful opinions helping me to refine/improve this idea
It still wouldn't make sense as Ares wouldn't just stand there like a fool *he was a coward and would never give up an advantage..especially to someone like Kratos*Â He would have been massacred if he tried to simply climb down and the jumping wasn't exactly an option..
~Also the water was from the sea pounding on the cliffs and was shown to be quite deep when Kratos fell through at the end...and in real life there are absolutely no examples of such INCREDIBLY shallow waters along a cliffs edge w/o a beach...it was just impossibly shallow and we couldn't see through the water so it must be deeper than that. I think the Box just magically made walking on walter possible around it as I don't think it was meant to sink into the bottom of the sea where some tard could get it..
A coward wouldn't risk it. Ares was coward. He wouldn't risk it.
~New posting style..what do you think [about it]? *reference American Psycho*
FINAL TOPIC REVIVAL *clear*
I personally wish that a fight for the box would have happened...it would have been great
~I have pictures of the locations/scenes now...but there are A LOT of them and I don't want to spam the topic with 20 pictures (perhaps I'll just link to them)
