If he is giving us a spell..I doubt it.
~Perhaps they'll throw in that 'chase sequence' left out of the first somehow for some reason.. but it wouldn't make much sense to fight him for a few reasons..
i dont think you fight Kronos because you have to fight Clossous a different huge giant...go to the link i have posted below to take a look:

Maybe the God's promised Kronos his freedom in return for killing Kratos. the titans were unfreeable. not literaly but there is no way the gods would let a titan go. they waged war on the gods and lst so thats what they get.

Maybe the God's promised Kronos his freedom in return for killing Kratos. the titans were unfreeable. not literaly but there is no way the gods would let a titan go. they waged war on the gods and lst so thats what they get. Could they see Kratos as an even bigger threat? I mean, one old titan would probably never be able to be the pantheon, but maybe they thought he could defeat a really powerful human.
None of that is exactly accurate.
When the war started and Zeus had freed his siblings, he freed the Hecatonchires, Giants and Cyclops (3 'primordial' cyclops) from Tartarus (like a prison and 'hell' in greek myth). The Cyclops made Zeus' thunderbolts, Poseidon's Trident and Hades' helm/crown of invisibility. Some Titans, such as Promotheus, saw the outcome of the battle clearly and sided with Zeus over Kronos and Atlas *who lead the fight*
You see, the gods were no true match for the Titans by themselves..without aid they could not have overcome them..gods like Ares, Athena, Apollo, etc..they weren't involved because they didn't exist yet. The Titans got their name for betraying their father, Ouranos/Uranus just like Zeus did...though they both deserved it. Ouranos called his children 'Titans' because the name meant something to the effect of 'overstepping boundaries' (trying to get more than one deserves/can handle)..Titan didn't mean BIG or anything like that..it just came out that way over time..like the term 'colossal'..
Anyway, Hades snuck (w/ his crown/helm) into the Titan camp and broke most if not all their weapons before the battle started. The war lasted 10 years. Near the end, Gaia and Tartarus birthed mighty Typhon to do battle with Zeus almighty. The fight was epic of course with different tellings for just how well Typhon did..some accounts say he best Zeus at one point..others say he meerly held his own before being crushed underneath a mountain. Typhon's children with Echidna (Hydra, Chimera, etc.) where allowed to live so they could challenge future heroes. Atlas got the shaft for leading the Titans into battle. Prometheus pissed off Zeus later by giving mankind fire..
Other gods were born after the remaining Titans were imprisoned in Tartarus where the Hecatonchires stood gaurd over them. Apollo later killed the three Cyclops (again..they aren't the same ones we've been fighting) when he was mad at Zeus. The Giants later mounted an assualt against Olympus and would have defeated the gods if Hercules had not aided them.
~We now know we meet Atlas and Kronos..how many more Titans will we meet with..who don't know just yet *CHECK THE UPDATE..Homepage..or go to Barlog's blog*
I WANT THE DEMO ALREADY!! Why is it taking so long for QA? Cory said that it's been in QA for some time now, how much more time can it take?? You merely sit down and play the game a few times! Granted it's a demo, it should take 1 hour for each run (Because they're noobs, they can't play games), amirite?Soulxxx
Perhaps there is more to it than that...likely you are correct though.
~I doubt the ones playing the demo are anywhere near our caliber..
---Until I return..
I want the game so badly, but if there was some chance that you had to fight Kronos, aww man, thats going to suck, i remember seeing him in God of War I, and how is Kratos supposed to kill something like that. Dusty114
With his good looks ofcourse *lol*
I mean you remember the size of that thing, he's a giant thing carrying an entire Temple on his back. Dusty114
Nein..he is practice.
~Kronos is a Titan..if we had to fight him *which I doubt* we could definately kill him..
NOTE: For those of you who take the 3 unlockable videos as canon..Kronos clearly can't die in GoWII since he lives for quite a while after GoW1..over a thousand years...
I on the other hand..don't take them too seriously..Perhaps they will be canonized..but I'm fairly confidant they won't play a major role in GoWII
It is going to be interesting to see what Kronos' role will be in the game, so this thunder spell, is it going to be like the one that Zues gives you in God of War I. Dusty114
Alucard makes an interesting post as per usual..
By the description we were given by the IGN article..not exactly..they were quite vague and admittedly I could not envision exactly how it would work due to that. I find it interesting that they may have chosen to make Zeus' thunderbolts a bloodline 'ability' rather than a weapon forged for him...or maybe the ability he gave us was a meere knockoff of his version..If the former is true than it makes a little sense why they choose to give Kronos access to such a power..because in greek myth..he really didn't have a specific talent other than eating his kids.. and NO..Kronos, father of Zeus, is NOT the same person as Chronos (time)..don't even go there..that common mistake is annoying. Though the team could have chosen to fuse the two, they thankfully did not apparently.
~AWAY *to college*
There is a giant Kronos-like at least monster you fight. Here's the trailer that shows him - Yes, WMV format GMG.curlfro
I theorize that Tyhpon's Bane=Windbow *all implications are accepted by GMG*
~I'm making a post in the Comprehensive Thread explaining my thoughts on the trailer, all we've seen/been told and what Barlog's blog says/he's said
Thanks for the acknowledgment about my post GMG. But, on to the current discussion. That video was sweet! It showed so much that we haven`t seen before, it had a cool narrator(would still slightly prefer the oracle to narrate the story in-game though), and gave us a few quotes from in the game. Awesome. Yes, I am thinking that with the similarities between the picture GMG posted and the giant rock figure in the video(thanks Curlfro) that it is indeed Atlas that we fight in a few quick scenes in that video, and apparently we seem to get a bow from him(likely the wind bow, maybe not, it looked more solid in that video than the wind bow we have seen in the past). I for one am just glad to see more teasers for the game.
Edit: It also seems that Icarus is confirmed as a boss. We knew he was going to be in there before, and we were pretty sure we were going to fight him, but now we have scenes of Kratos fighting him(very briefly) to make it official. And upon a more in-depth perception(read:paused) view of that bow, I am almost totally certain that it is the wind bow, the first level of the wind spell.
Edit again!: Yeah, after hearing GMG`s thoughts in the comprehensive thread, it would make a lot of sense for that to have been Typhon, and not Atlas as I had first thought, and it is obviously not Kronos.

It did look like Kronos to me (though more rock-like), but then again almost anything that has been alive that long probably look pretty much the same anyway. Please Log In to post.
