Upon beating the LOS series recently, i realized that it was one of the first games i beat in a while to hit me emotionally. Nobody here knows this but im not a particularly emotional person. Just seeing the end of DOTD and the songs brought a tear to my eye. I still haven't listened to any other music other than those two songs lol. (that was over a week ago)

So i thought maybe this topic would be good to discuss the feelings of the ending of the LOS games and the songs. Maybe the lyrics of those songs.

Well, I know that DOTD did have quite an epic ending, I felt it lacked a little bit. So I was inspired to write this:

Enjoy!

Nicely written man! I read long books and such all the time so i didn't think it was that long. Fits in with some of the better stories i've read online.
I know what you mean though. The ending just lacked... i dunno a real final connection between Spyro and Cynder. The game hinted at it but the ending didn't finish it you know? Even with the whispered "i love you".

Yeah, it just... i don't quite know what... but... there's just that little bit of emptiness to it. But hey, that's where imagination steps in

I actually thought it was a perfect ending really....
The entire rhythm of the scene was so nicely put together with the defeating of Malefor, and then..... (just in case)
With the world crumbling, and Spyro wanting Cynder to leave, you can really feel the emotional connection between the two characters. It was the first game since Gran Turismo (shut up) that I felt really attached to what was happening within the game. And especially when Cynder told Spyro that she'd stay with him no matter what, and THEN with her saying silently "I love you..."
Amazing.....truly amazing.....

I don't know why, but I didn't really like the ending that much.

I'm not saying it was a bad ending. Quite the opposite actually. I've rebeat DotD every day this week just to see it. I just didn't think expanded on that final whispered "I love you" like it could. Though Cynder saying "Then I'm with you" really helped create the emotion, It could have just gone that much farther, like after the credits the flying scene didn't really satisfy. You could tell they were very happy but i dunno.....

I think that song (I would die for you) seems to have the biggest effect. I don't know about you, but I think those that are singing it sound remarkably like Spyro and Cynder! Whenever I watch the credits, (which I actually do on purpose just to hear that song), I get a strong image of the two dragons sitting on a cliff high above Avalar, singing to each other :') Especially when they sing together mid-way through. But that's just me :P

And unlike the rest of us, whatever you imagine you can draw up. hahaha

But yeah, I felt that the song was greatly fit into the ending and whole story of the game....

And I did the same thing has par_m3 actually! I saved the game right before the fight with Malefor, and then everytime I beat the game and saw the ending scenes and credits (and don't forget the last scene after the credits ;)) I'd just shut the PS2 off, reverting me back to before Malefor's fight to see it all over again! :D

Hmmm... *strokes chin*

I think the Malefor battle get's in the way of the ending  Actually, I do play most of the story over and over just for the cutscenes  The best ones in my opinion are the ones in burned lands, and the one just before the Malefor battle. :) I think there the parts where you can see the greatest connection between Spyro and Cynder.

One Little thing I noticed during the final cutscene though: I don't think Spyro would have been able to 'fix' the world on his own, I think it's because of Cynder he manages it. The reason is because if you look really carefully at Cynder, just as she's to say "I love you!", her mouth glows a bright pink-ish colour, and at the same moment, Spyro seems to gather so much more energy!

I'm playing Spyro right now, I'm just finishing the floating Isles, so I'll get my camera ready for when that moment comes...

I beat Malefor a lot quicker than I thought I would :)

Highlight

Sorry about the quality. This is the quickest I could react :P. She does start glowing moments before this...

Dead on, Fush! Good job. ;)
I guess so....Cynder does start glowing right before.
We've noticed so many things here that probably others might not have even thought of. Who would have figured!!! 8)

Nice catch guys. I noticed the glowing mouth deal before but never thought much of it... Maybe Spyro couldn't do it on his own...
Like Lowndes says though, thats where imagination kicks in :)

I've been listening to This Broken Soul lately though, I think its talking about Cynder and how she feels guilty and sad, then she realizes that Spyro really cares about her.
Great songs.....

^ This Broken Soul, a touching song, I tell ya!

Even the title sounds sad, but maybe that's because of my sensitive character. Or not, the title just has a sad tone to it, imo. Also, the song is a hit in the heart after seeing The Eternal Night's ending, like seriously...Â
