It's because the year it came out, 2000, is the year of the Dragon on the Chinese calendar. :) I know this because of the various Chinese Zodiacs I've seen. Not only that, but 12 years before 2000 is 1988. My birth year. :D

It seems it's not quite as simple as just the birth year. You have to be born withing a 2-year gap which is either starts on January and ends on February, or goes Feb to Feb, or Feb to Jan, but rarely (I only spotted it twice) Jan to Jan. :? Confusing!

lol... i like that part, too. :lol: i also like when they're all in the motel, and Homer's like "This is america!" and he opens the curtains and all the billboard signs are written in Spanish and Japanese. :P
lol... it's a pretty funny movie, but i've heard that a lot of people who saw it didn't quite get some of the inside jokes, 'cuz they don't regularly whatch the Simpsons..
