As the name says,I will only put those tanks that are famous to gamers or the best in their country.I only put their name not their models so that it may not confuse you which model to choose.

T-34 was THE best Allied tank of the war.  The Germans hated going up against those.

The English Matilda. Yeah, it was slow, low-calibered, thin-treaded and cumbersome, but soooo sexy. It was just one great hunka-hunka heavy metal. Besides the obviously unbeatable T-34 (German copy being the Panther), the Matilda was the "Queen Of The Desert."

That was actually a pretty good tank! Its my favorite allied tank from Forgotten Hope a battlefield 1942 conversion.

True but it was way faster than the German Tiger and the Tiger was so heavy that it could get stuck in the mud!

how ever seeing tiger can disable sherman with one hit, sherman can't beat tiger, unless it was like 5 to 1, and shoot tiger in the back, or having firefly, which weren't common like sherman so tiger would be winner in 1 on 1 tank fight

Yeah, that's my favorite.  It had thicker armor in the turret than it had in it's hull really, but it's top speed of 55mph made it superb at hit and run, and it's gun was still powerful enough to pierce through most German tanks.  If it would have been introduced earlier, I guarantee that it would have been the most successful tank destroyer of the war.  But it saw not even a year of combat, so it really didn't get much attention.  In one of incident, a group of Hellcats destroyed  roughly 60 Panther tanks at a loss of only about 15 Hellcats.  It's speed more than made up for it's lack of armor.  I wouldn't doubt that it could easily take on a Tiger if it used it's speed to it's advantage.

They were pretty slow,Ii think that and the Sherman tank were the two most overrated of the entire war.  The Tiger was slow which made it an easy target, which really is where all of that armor became expended.  And the only advantage the Sherman had was it's numbers.  Here's what I think were the most underrated tanks of the war.

1. M3-M5 Stuart-Just look at what that thing went up against and succeeded.

1. T34-Overshadowed in the America's by the Sherman, possibly due to the tensions of the Cold War.

3. Panzer V Panther-really overshadowed by the big, overrated, and bulky Tiger tanks, but was really a good answer and successful T34 rival.

4.M18 Hellcat-my favorite, but had little war experience to prove just how good it was.

I heard about Comet tanks. That those tanks made it to the war so late that they practicaly didn't see any action at all...Icarus405
So were the Chaffee and Pershing U.S. tanks.  But it's a good thing that those hardly saw any combat, they would have been horrible had they been introduced early in the war, and were horrible with the action they saw.

However introducing them earlier would have saved many tanker's from the poor and inferior Sherman.

Since it was brought so late in the war, One "Super Pershing" destroyed a King Tiger and Disabled a Panther during an enagement in Dassau, Germany. In Korea the M26 accounted for half the T34/85's destroyed by the US Armored Corps.

As for best Allied Tank, For me it would have to be either the Firefly or the Russian IS2/3 models of Heavy Tanks. But since there isn't an option for the IS series then the T34 gets my vote.

I can agree why the Pershing performed well in Korea, but it was meant to battle a Tiger, and it failed at that.  And the chaffee was supposed to replace the Stuart but after reading about it I would still choose a Stuart.  It sounded very unreliable.

I don't know, It's combat effectiveness was never proven (only on one occasion), a Major with the 3rd AD stated that the pershing should have went over to the ETO sooner, but because of Patton's position on the Sherman it was delayed.

I agree the Chaffee was meant as a cheap alternative. I'd myself would pick the Stuart over it.

The Germans made a lot of crap that got too much attention, everybody likes them just because of their armor, but they were slow and unreliable.

Well the  M26 Pershing tank although not as good as the Tiger II it was better then any Panther tank and was on equal terms with the Tiger I tank.  In fact a M26 could go shot for shot with a Tiger Tank  one on one in the battlefeild and win, something almost any other piece of allied armor could not do.

cool.   Oh and one more thing about the m26....panzerfusts would bounce right off it.    Too bad it wasnt made sooner or alot of allied tank crews would still be alive.

If they managed to get one in tack
