No Access To Game Boards?
1) We do not handle any disputes for game board moderations handled by GameFAQs. All GameSpot members can visit GameFAQs.com and log in to the site with their GameSpot login and password to dispute a moderation through their automated system. Reversal requests are reserved for GameSpot moderations only.
2) GameSpot staff and moderators may share an assumption about why you were moderated by GameFAQs. Please note that we can only share assumptions based on a GameFAQs moderation that clearly states an abuse reason. For an example, if the moderation item states "Otherwise unspecified", this will not be enough for us to make any guesses about why a user has been moderated. Any GameFAQs moderation that has a post stamp of March 30 or prior will likely have the GameFAQs reason - Otherwise unspecified in the moderation history. Any user who wants an actual reason for the moderation must contact GameFAQs for an answer.
3) GameSpot mods do not have access to GameFAQs moderation tools, nor can they see any game board reported abuse, but they can see if a GameSpot member has been moderated in a game board - based on GameFAQs moderations made in your moderation history.

Game Boards Moderated By GameFAQs
(Gamespot moderators do not moderate game boards)
Game Boards History
Gamespot.com and GameFAQs.com for the most part are separate entities in terms of community features, but the Terms of Use agreements are the same. Early in the day, Gamespot had individual game boards for each game, and once we noticed that a variety of them were getting too quiet, we decided to merge our forums with GameFAQs' game boards. The end result is that when you post in a game board found on any of our game pages, members of GameFAQs and GameSpot can interact with you.
GameFAQs Moderations - GameSpot mods do not have access to moderate game boards
GameSpot moderators do not have access to moderate or find abuse reported in the game boards (also known as specific game forum, or shared game board). If you'd like to report abuse in the game boards, the content will be flagged in the GameFAQs moderation queue for GameFAQs mods and staff.
If you are a frequent poster of the game boards and you break the rules, you will be moderated by GameFAQs. While we would love to help you consider how to change behavior, GameSpot mods and staff can only make an assumption about why GameFAQs might have moderated you only if the moderation item shares the reason. Even so, we can only share some guesses based on how we moderate abuse, and comparing notes with the GameFAQs annotated Terms of Use.
We cannot handle any disputes about these moderations. This does mean that anyone wanting to dispute a moderation, rather than receive any guesses, you'll need to login to GameFAQs while using your GameSpot login and password to dispute your moderation on the site.
If you are moderated for posting in the game boards, you will likely encounter no access to the game boards, but you might be able to access to any of the GameSpot forums listed on the directory. and access to all other GameSpot community features like private messages, blogs, and more. GameSpot members who receive moderations for breaking rules in the game boards deal with a karma system used on GameFAQ. which will display an error messages such as "you do not have access to post messages in this board".
Avoiding Game Board Moderations
Now that you understand how the game boards function, here are a couple of tips about how to avoid a game board moderation for simply using the site without being aware of what might be flagged for spoilers and dispruptive posting. Additionally, GameFAQs has a helpful annotated Terms of Use agreement that goes into in-depth information about how GameFAQs moderates content in the game boars.
The game boards should be used in a manner of "text" only. If you use the WYSIWYG editor, .html, or even spoiler tags, then none of that can be viewed on the GameFAQs end at this time (GameFAQS is working on allowing some better crossover game board features).
- Avoid Spoiler Tags: Many users do not realize that sharing a spoiler tag might not display properly while using the GameSpot game board pages, but that entire spoiler post will display entirely for a GameFAQs user. You might think, "Well, at least another GameSpot user can see my content," but a GameFAQs user will flag the content for being disruptive or sharing a spoiler. The GameFAQs moderator or admin will see the violation on his or her end and the reported abuse will be considered valid.
- Use Text Only: You can avoid receiving these kinds of moderations by using text only (paste your content into a notepad and that's how it will look to a GameFAQs user), or you can go to the GameFAQs post.
- Cannot Delete Posts: In many cases, if you post something on GameSpot, you can edit or delete your posts, but not on GameFAQs. Keep in mind that if you'll want to double check your posts prior to posting them or they'll live on the internets forever.

GameFAQs Help
- FAQ: A helpful page about how to use the site can be found on their frequently asked questions page.
- Account Read-Only: Contact GameFAQs if you have read-only permissions, which should be found while logging in to GameFAQs.
- If you are moderated while using GameFAQs and not the game boards, you'll want to dispute the moderation via their automated system.
- GameFaqs mod histories do get purged after a while whereas our moderation histories will keep all abuse you've had in the game boards. Additionally, even though GameFAQs purges moderation histories after a certain time, that does not mean an admin cannot find former moderations made while using the site.
