The first Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal 2 had unique gameplay styles, mainly because of their driving controls. They had very loose "Ridge Racer" controls and makes the game very fast paced. Ramming for the larger vehicles was crucial, but speed and handling benefits for the lightly armored vehicles were a major benefit as well, and made the characters weigh out very well with each other in combat. In the coming Twisted Metal, would you like to see this play style come back?

I think Black got it right. It was obviously not very realistic, but it still made for good gameplay. When I played TM2 for the first time in years. I forgot how touchy the controls were. It was still fun, but it made playing with the quicker cars tough.

I think I would like to see the new TM be more like the TM2 style. That game really defined the series, and to me, is the best one of all the twisted metals. The ramming on that game made it unique, and the cartoony feel was alot of fun. I think TM head on tried to copy that style, but came up a little short.

TMHO had a very different play style than TM2. It was more like the controls of TMB, and in that environment I just didn't think that worked. TM and TM2's driving styles were totally unique of any other driving game and fit the environments perfectly, as gmans33 said. If the next Twisted Metal goes in the cartoony direction, I really hope the Tm and TM2 play styles are used. But if it's a Black environment, I'm not quite sure it would fit.

The game could really go in any direction. I'm pumped to find out which direction that is as we approach the announcement.
