There seems to be a lack of manpower within the Writers Round Table.

Many pieces of work don't get critiqued in a timely fashion. Now, I'm not blaming anyone, nor am I bothered, I'm just wondering if a few more active members of the round table would help.

It is from this mindset that I want to throw my hat in the ring. I would love to be a part of the Writers Round Table!

I'm sure you can only join by invitation only, so if that's the case, I understand that it's not as simple as signing up.

I'm just offering my help. I'll wade through the backlog, no problem!

Your observations are correct and we're in the process of reviewing and rewriting some of the union's guidelines. Look for things to really kick off after the e3 blitz is over.

With that said, you're more than welcome (and even encouraged) to critique any work that's been uploaded. However, a respectful, albeit honest, approach is appreciated as we do not tolerate unconstructive criticism. If you don't like a piece, or even if you think it's the worst thing written in the history of the craft, provide insightful and uplifting commentary and try to avoid focusing purely on the bad. Everyone here has something to learn and we're trying to create an environment where writers feel safe in sharing their work as we grow together. Regardless, kind elaboration goes a long way.

Anyhow, let me know if you have any questions and I'll write back as soon as possible.

PS: We're looking to recruit new officers soon and any commentary you add will benefit your chances greatly. Good luck, and I'll see you around!

Yes, as a fellow writer you are allowed and encouraged to help with the critique process. As Saigo commented, we have specific rules on commentary that pretty much just involve being polite and constructive.

I've been wanting to drop by and write some critiques. But work has been getting in the way (doesn't help that I write and edit for a living; kinda sucks some of the fun out of this). Should be available more once E3's over.

It's also okay for other Justicars/officers/members to give additional critiques on submissions that have already been reviewed. One of the goals of this union is to create discussions about writing, and it's tough when there's only one critique of each piece :)
