Why did you put can't beileve i'm putting this next to mass effect 3 for f'ck sake.
You know what pi'sses me off about these idiot Fck'n gamers all over the world. The fact they think a whole ending counts for a whole game and just because the ending wasn't that good must mean the whole game is sh't. Which to be honest is pretty fck'n disgusting considering there are so many elements of mass effect 3 that make it better than the second one.
For instance no more mining and probing planets for years to find Elements to use for upgrades. A freedom with in the game play you can have that you didn't have in the second one. The multiplayer and the way it grasps Co-Operative play really well which suits the needs for most gamers these days, and for their first multiplayer it was pretty fck'n good. Also the combat as a whole is far better than both ME2 and ME1 put together which adds more likeness to the gameplay as a whole. And then you have the story which carries on well from the other two games and everything up until the final climax isn't bad at all and the story holds true to the trilogy up until that point.
Fck'n pi'sses me of when you simple Fck'n gamers can't stand a game because of what everyone else is saying. In that case you might aswell just like GoW or the whole of the Halo franchise because sh't, most people have the opinion that it's two of the best franchises on the 360 (Exclusivley.)
And if you haven't played Mass effect 3 then you're not allowed to have a valid opinion on it. You can act as if you know what you're talking about because alot of Fck'n idiots think it's shyte because of one thing, it's ending. Which pretty much tells you they're simple gamers with simple minds if one simple factor could change their mind on a whole game. And if you're going to take advice from these people then you obviously think like they do and should be shot and stabbed in the head for being such a FCK'n retard.
You people make me Fck'n SICK.
I played the game and didn't like the ending. Everything else was great, just can't stand that f*ckin ending. So weak and thoughtless. If it wasn't for that ending, I never would have joined Gamespot in the first place.TruthTellers
Yea. Doesn't mean the whole game is shyte and you should make a username to complain about it on gamespot. Baaah, baaah. You hear that justin, that's the sound of sheep following one and other onto forums to complain about a good game they suddenly think is shyte because it's ending isn't that good.
Notice i said isn't that good. It's not a terrible ending at all and i've seen worse. The thing is, with most games in this generation the endings are poor. It doesn't matter what game it is, sometimes they get it right and sometimes they don't. And until you live with the fact that games don't have good endings anymore. Then you'll realise how Fck'n retarded you're to make an account to argue about a games ending and spending all of that time dedicated to a wreslting forum instead.
I've actually went with JML897 and Razor-Lazor's (I think, if I remember correctly) recommendation on playing The Walking Dead, and I must say, WOW! I've only just finished episode two, but so far I understand why people have voted it Game Of The Year. It's an incredible experience so far, but I will finish all of The Walking Dead before I decide out of it and XCOM as my GOTY. I have a feeling Walking Dead might actually win once I've finished. So thanks to everyone who recommended it to me a while ago. Brilliant game so far.

That was the issue I had. With games today having sh!t stories, for a game, albeit an rpg a genre built on the story, to have such amazing characters, thought, detail, and fantastic gameplay throughout all three games was incredible, but to have, imo, an ending where the devs and writers took the easy way out OR because EA forced Bioware to alter its original ending was disappointing because it failed to deliver what Mass Effect always had up to that point: resolution. I'll admit that I have yet to watch the Extended Cut which added some things to the ending, so I should probably withhold judgement. This list is an abomination. GOTY Rock, Paper, Scissors Checkers 20 Questions Tic Tac Toe Go Fish Pong Drunk DrivingThat list is a joke.
GOTY:
XCOM
Walking Dead
Borderlands 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Street Fighter III: Third Strike
Halo 2 (I can't believe I'm putting this...omg that ending)
OKAMI!
No One Can Stop Mr. Domino!
Super Metroid

What the hell happened to this thread?
And sorry, but Tidus and Wakka can easily be considered two of the worst characters of all time, while being in a boring, nonsensical game. The only redeeming things about that game is Auron's penis and the fact it's not Final Fantasy XIII. That's about it... Horrible, HORRIBLE game!

Okay, this does it! I just finished Episode 4 of The Walking Dead and this is my Game Of The Year. By the end of Episode 2 I was convinced this might win, but Jesus Christ this game is the best game this year. I'm actually scared to play this final episode, because that's how well the game sucks you into its story. Plus, I just don't want it to end in general.
On one hand I want to pick XCOM, just because it was a damn good game and I want to support it so that they make more XCOM type of games in the future. Good turn based games are few and far between, but on the other hand, The Walking Dead has single handedly revived the point and click adventure genre. So not only is it easily the best game this year, but I'm also supporting it for the future of adventure games. I really do recommend it to everyone. It's an experience I haven't felt for a long time.
Well, just a few characters...
After beating Episode 4, you should have an idea of what is going to happen...
Btw, did you tell the group at the end of Episode 4 or did you hide it? I hope you hid it because OH MY F***** GOD. The story is much much better during the beginning of Episode 5.
The first episode is free and each episode after that cost 400 microsoft points. So a total of 1,600 points for all of the episodes. Each episode is about 2-3 hours of gameplay depending on how you play it. The first Episode is about 2 hours-ish and completely free.

The part I was referring to in the beginning of Episode 5 is when you pass out for the first time. When you tell the group, you wake up and Christa is doing "it". If you hide it, you are by yourself. YOU have to do it. It is one of the most intense and thrilling moments I've ever experienced in a video game. I feel bad for anyone who told the group.
I finished The Walking Dead Episode 5... And I am lost for words. I almost bawled up with sadness. I haven't had a game do that to me since Metal Gear Solid 4. Just amazing.pokajabba
This is no longer true. Episode 1 was only free from 25th - 31st. Each episode was also 200 M$ points each so $10 total for the whole series. Now it'll cost $25 if you download it and $30 if you buy a physical copy.
If you like TWD and only know the show, Gamestop has a $60 collector's edition that comes with a retail copy and The Walking Dead Compendium Vol. 1 which includes issues #1 - #48 of the comic book. Those issues are the reason there is a tv show and a video game. They are phenomenal.Â

I played it as a team player. Kenny hated me after Episode 1.
Â
As for the tv show, it starts out very similar, but dramatically veers off. Settings and characters are pretty much all the same except for the CDC and a few characters. But the way it begins, the survivors out in the woods, the farm, the prison, all in the comic.
I will say this, early in the comic, something happens that will shock you. Its too bad that you saw the show first because that twist actually doesn't happen and is one of those "omg, when are they going to do it" kind of things. It eventually happens, but more so because of external factors on the show (meaning real life affected the storyline).Â
Â
Good luck finding #1. Its worth a lot (unless they do ANOTHER reprint. If you find a copy of #1, you might as well buy The Compendium Vol. 1 on amazon since its cheaper (again, the Compendium is $35).Â
Â
Edit: Yeah...

$30, $50, $100, $200, $1000+. Depends on the printing, but even the mos recent reprints are $20+.
In comparison, if you want to try it and just buy the first trade, $10. Then if you want to get every trade that consists of Compendium Vol. 1, then that is $115 if you get them out a bookstore/LCS, or $80 if you get it on Amazon.Â
Â
Once again, the Compendium Vol. 1 is only $35 an Amazon (or $60 at a bookstore/LCS).

Compendium Vol. 2 (issues #49 - 96) is out now too.
I played it like a team player (Nice guy) too, just because it fit Lee's personality more. I desperately tried to get Kenny to like me multiple times, to no avail. Kenny is an awesome character though and probably one of my favourites in the game, even if he disagree's with everything I do.I played it as a team player. Kenny hated me after Episode 1.

Are you referring to the stuff with Shane during the first few issues?
I finaly finished playing the walking dead and all i'll write is what i wrote to scott.
A story has always been what matters and it's all been lost and we are left with generic shooters that don't feel anything but shoot em ups. And RPG's that capture the true elements of what makes a good game but can't hold my attention most of the time with out it feeling like a job to complete. They have no pace and are smeared with a blank canvass as far as storylines go.
Even Skyrim can't hold a story properly with out you feeling empty at the end of it. Fair enough so games like Red Dead and Mass effect try to capture a good storyline. But you either feel like it was ok or you're felt cheated when it ends.
Other games like left 4 dead (The first one ) have you playing because it's all about the gameplay and nothing else. Which is why something like that could of been better with a story line. But again there is no story and it's been whiped clean for the simple factor they focus on a shoot em up and that's it.
If a point and click game can do so much better with it's character development and it's superior story, then other games in this sh'tty generation have something to answer for.
On that note with the choices i made, the storyline and it's character devlopment, TWD is one of the best games i have ever played with the best story along side Metal Gear Solid. And when i say something like that then people who know me would know how much that means, because unlike most people every time a new game comes out i'll never say it was the BEST game i've ever played. I always criticise parts of a game when i liked it but felt there were thing's wrong. But there's not much i can think that goes wrong with TWD.
In my opinion they should drop the series completley, because after playing this i don't want to watch that peice of shyte anymore.
The game is set in the same universe but with a much better story and different characters. Glen and hershel are the only two characters from the series that are in the game for an episode each. But their roles are nothing major.
And Breaking bad and the game are completley different. But i would say that both storys are as good as each others.
And Justin you'll love it man and it's worth the money for every second you play the game. There's so many diverse choices you can make, that makes the game your own and not just the same as everyone elses. Also a minor choice you make to do or say anything passes over into other episodes.
And also if you don't cry at the end, then you ain't no human son.
