Should we just exclude any of the Hell in a Cell matches from 2009-2012? I mean, all of the HiaC PPV matches were nothing special, and Taker-HHH shouldn't really be considered a Hell in a Cell match.

I'm with Razor-Lazor on this. The last good Hell In A Cell (Arguably), was Taker-Edge. Anything after, shouldn't be considered 'Cell' matches.

It should be noted, however, that while Sheamus-Orton wasn't a memorable Hell ina Cell match, it was a damn good match.

Absolutely not, you can pick any Cell match you want.

I really couldn't give a s*** what a "real" Hell in a Cell match is supposed to be. The first few Cell matches had the participants escape the cell, and now everyone thinks that a REAL Cell match needs the participants to escape the Cell and even go ON TOP of it, despite the Cell being even larger these days.

I, for one, don't like my wrestlers dying.

Also, Undertaker vs Triple H is easily among the best Hell in a Cell matches, so suck it.

I didn't say they SHOULD go outside. They should at least be epic and brutal, like the name suggest's. From 2009 and onwards, the only one that comes close to brutal, was Triple H/Taker. They are only doing about 10,000 chair shots though, while the other Cell matches at least changed the weapons and had a bit of wrestling.

And used the 'Cell' more. Triple H/Undertaker, more resembles a 'Chair' match than a 'Hell In A Cell' match

I've never cared whether or not wrestlers go outside the cell. I don't think that's what makes a HiaC match.

However, people often say that a HiaC match is good as long as they use the cell to cause damage. I don't really agree with this, as I hate all the HiaC matches that do nothing but have a guy rub the other's face on the cell or bash their face into it.

All I was saying was that I haven't seen the majority of the HiaC matches ever since the Hell in a Cell PPV started, and I don't really count them as HiaC matches given that they're just month-long feuds.

The one thing a 'Cell' match must be, is BRUTAL. Whether you slam your opponents into the Cell or not, you must at least use tons of barbaric things, to give the 'Cell' match its name. Triple H vs Undertaker, was brutal because of chair shots and only chair shots. If it had used more weapons, more of the 'Cell' and more wrestling, then I'd happily rank it among the best. The only thing it has going for it though, is the the in ring story. The match itself has very repetitive parts. If it wasn't for the in-ring story, then the match would be forgotten about, because it hasn't got any substance in the wrestling/brawl/hardcore side of things.

lol, at Ocelot's 'Glorified Chair Match' comment. Thinking about it, and it kinda is. It's a chair shot fest, with little wrestling, weapon use and its almost like they are not in a 'Cell'. Great in-ring story, but not among the best 'Hell In A Cell' matches.

Okay so for everyone saying that Undertaker/Triple H Cell match is bad, what does everyone expect/want/think a Hell in a Cell match should be?

No one said Triple H vs Undertaker was bad. It's just not a great Hell In A Cell match, because it doesn't even feel like the Cell is there. I mean, I only think the match is good, but with fantastic storytelling. It's like having a ladder match, where the opponents barely even touch the ladder or do any kind of spots. A Hell In A Cell, must be brutal. It should combine in-ring story, wrestling, brawling, weapons, spots, making good use of the cage and overall an atmosphere where the opponents are truly having their last match to find out who's better, to end a rivalry. The good Cell matches at least provide 6 of those aspects. These things, are why this gimmick match was so successful in the day. Now its literally a gimmick. Like Ocelot said, it was a glorified 'Chair' match.

I'm not counting just anything that has the word "Hell" in it, bro.

Not even the Kennel From Hell match, which technically DOES have a Hell in a Cell structure, but the voting wouldn't be fair. Match of the Forever.

lol @ Undertaker being in all of my choices. I don't think many people have actually checked out Kane vs Undertaker, it's awful.

Speaking of criminally underrated, Jericho vs HHH is fantastic.

Hey guys! Been a while since I was last on here. I'm not sure why, but I love these types of topics. ^_^

Best ~ HBK/HHH
Runner Up ~ Jericho/HHH

Worst ~ Cm Punk/Taker
Runner Up ~ Taker/HHH

I've only seen five of these types of matches. They were,

HBK/HHH
Jericho/HHH
Taker/Lesnar
Cm Punk/Taker
HHH/Taker

My opinion can't really be judged as the best when it comes to Hell in a Cell matches.

I do agree that Batista vs Undertaker sucks, but why do you hate it so much? Hopefully it's for the same reason I hate it:

It's the same damn match that they've been having over the past few months of their feud, BUT IN A CELL!

Like literally, MOVE FOR MOVE, the same false-finish sequences.

Pretty much this.

It also felt like the pacing was off the ending match and things just didn't gel well. I'd argue that the match was too slow, but the HHH/HBK one was slow but I actually enjoyed that for the story telling.

It just felt like the Cell was a prop just to look pretty and to say they had it in the fued, rather than making a good match of it.

It felt like they just wanted the match over as quickly as possible and as you said, doing move for move, from their previous matches. There was nothing epic or Hellish about the match, and the storytelling was non-existent. Oh, and Batista kicking out of a TOMBSTONE ON THE STEPS, was complete BS. So Batista can kick out of a special used on steel, but Undertaker can't kick out of a Conchairto. Right. I mean you guy's are making out that HHH vs Kevin Nash was a bad match, but compared to Batista/Undertaker's match, it looks like a masterpiece. How often do we get to see Nash and HHH, in the ring together. Also, at least it had some kind of history to it and they were actually trying to put on a quality match (Unsuccessfully, even though I'd say it's neither bad or good).
