taker and cane stated in 97 in the hell in a cell match undertaker vs shawn. Kane interfered and shawn won.

97-01- best years of WWF. WWF ruled...i miss WWF attitude

funny thing is wwf attitude fans were deep down ECW fans. Now if ECW was out there for everyone to see then there would still be an ECW today. It's not that ecw sucked..because it didn't. It's just that no one could get to it. WWF was smart in giving a watered down version of ECW to the fans who didn't have ECW because the fans in the nineties wanted blood and guts. And the funny thing is if you listen to the audio in the original hell in a cell match you heear a few blips and bloops of chants on ECW. IMO the end of the attitude era was when the F was out. Mainly because vince had monopolized the business and he didn't need to do anything because he thinks we'll watch his show anyway. Matches didn't need to be extreme anymore because they had already taken out ECW. Matches didn't need to have as much quality as WCW's did in it's prime because vince bought WCW. So he basically brought us back to the WWF that was the early nineties. old...sucky..and horrible. ROH and TNA are the two comapnies to put WWE back into what it was into the late nineties...good. If those two companies make it big and take on WWE and work together somehow either WWE will get better or fold.

I know the Kane and Undertaker story-line started in 1997 with Kane coke-slamming the Undertaker and shawn pinning the Undertaker for the win in the first ever Hell in the Cell Match, but the prime of their feud happened in 1998.

In 1998 is when Kane put the Undertaker in the casket and burned the casket with him in it. That is when the Undertaker made his return around a month before WrestleMania XIV and broke his promise that he made to his parents that he would never fight his brother Kane.

Also, is when they had their classic match at WrestleMania XIV and it took the Undertaker giving Kane three Tombstones to win the match. Thirdly, is when we found at Paul Bearer is Kanes father (at least story-line wise). Fourthly, is when Undertaker and Kane beat Stone Cold together and took the belt off Austin, but did not win the belt either (that is different story).

Finally, that is when Kane's father and one and only friend in life turned on him and join with the Undertaker. For the first time in the WWF/E, Kane had became the Baby face and the Undertaker was the Heel.

All of these was really the prime of their feud and it what led to the many battles, twists and turns in the coming years (including the WrestleMania XX match and them helping each other at Royal Rumble 2005).

Not bashing (like you a lot actually), just expalining my point, that is all.

Your hard-pressed to come up with a better year in WWF history than 1998. Hell, that was one of the best years for wrestling, in general, as the wrestling boom really took off to new heights.
