This was posted a little while ago, sorta, but no one really noticed, Here were my thoughts:Â
After reading that, I think I have to change my opinion on this subject.
If that story is to be taken at its word, I'm thinking WWE is definately the right place for RVD. That article implies that WWE really does realize RVD's value and potential value to them and they seem to be willing to accomodate him and do their best to keep him in the company. I don't think they'll ever put a World Title on him, but it seems that they will keep him a featured part of wherever he goes when ECW runs its course. The way that article makes it sound, it really would be stupid to go to TNA. WWE can give him the better deal and they seem to be willing to do that to keep Van Dam.
TNA is such a ****show right now and really shows no sign of improving. Sure, RVD could go over there and work some great matches on a less demanding schedule, but what does it matter, TNA has proven that they can ruin anything that touches them. Kurt Angle has also shown that WWE popularity won't necessarily follow, as he, and no one can convince me otherwise, hasn't brought the fan support he was expected to bring.Â
RVD doesn't have that many good years left in him and I think he knows that. The top wrestling company in the world looks willing to accomodate you to keep you around and your other option is more bush league and less popular than ECW was with very little in the way of positive signs. I'd love to see RVD-Lynn a few more times, among other matches TNA could offer, I'd love to see RVD come by ROH for a few special appearances if that were in the cards (hearing him enter to "Walk"one more time would be something else), but if the WWE is as accomodating as they seem to be in this article, I definately think its in easily in RVD's best interests to stay.Â
sorry, The_Dude, no chance of RVD-Lynn XXVIsephy37Yeah, but it may be for the best in the long run.
RVD vs Jerry Lynn in a Dance, Dance Revolution on a Pole Match where the only way to win is get the Dance Pad off of the pole then defeat your opponent in a Dance Off to culminate their feud that restarted over which is the better dancer just might not live up to my expactations.
Also, in that match, Jarrett would win when he makes RVD and Jerry Lynn tap.
i could have sworn i already posted this :P
anyways, i'm very pleased to hear that RVD and WWE are back on better terms. as of now, it seems that neither company can seem to really boost or better yet support their own talent. but, there is just this uncomfortable feeling i get when i think of RVD frog-splashing the hell out of some jobber in TNA. let's face the facts, that wrestling "promotion" kurt angle had always dreamed of hasn't really paid off. the same could be said for rhino, christian, and countless others. my point is, mr. rob van dam has a place at the old WWE. and it puts a slight smirk on my face knowing that the big dogs over at that federation are starting to realize it, too. Â
