from wwe.com

WWE.com has learned that today in Chicago, WWE officials have agreed on the immediate release of Joey Mercury.

edited by sephy37:

TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT.

There was an incident backstage at Raw this afternoon, which resulted in Joey Mercury being fired and Stephanie McMahon being taken to a local hospital. Details are still coming in, but the early word is that Mercury snapped when the creative team told him that he and his partner Johnny Nitro would not be appearing at Wrestlemania 23. Not much is known, but word is that Mercury charged at Stephanie McMahon, knocking her into the side of a desk. He was immediately restrained by the rest of the creative team, and fired on the spot. Vince McMahon is said to be furious at the harm caused at his daughter, who had to be taken to a Chicago hospital for evaluation. Mercury may face criminal charges and possible jail time if WWE decides to follow through. Dave Meltzer will have much more on this situation as he gets it

Wasn't actually surprising. No more MNM I suppose. But he'll probably be rehired within 6 months, just watch.

If this is true, holy s***. I know she's a **** but come on, she's the bosses daughter, and she pretty much gets what she wants. Besides, who the hell charges at a woman for not getting a match.

This release caught me by surprise. I was thinking MNM had a shot at the tag titles at Mania, but Mercury went and screwed it up. Now they'll have to find Nitro someting to do. I think he could always find a new partner or go over to smackdown.

no i think steph deserves it shes a complete ***** and mercury probably charged at her more for the fact MNM looks like there careers in the WWE are over they have been getting killed lately and creative keeps burying them further and ironically steph runs creative so its understandable and im really more shocked somebody hasnt tried to kill her or any other mchmahons sooner is the more shocking part of this.

and for all you dont hit a women people sorry but women want equal rights well then dont give me this women cant be hit nonsense if women cant be hit then they can go back to being housewives like the first half of the 1900s and earlier when women were treated as second c l a s s citizens when that happens ok ill accept dont hit a lady but otherwise no women or men are all fair game in that department.

I actually enjoyed seeing Mercury to. damn. But, i do think that MNM deserved a WM match. Even though Joey wasnt over with the fans, Nitro is, and they've been there for like 2 years now? CM punk has been on TV for like 8 months, and he's in the MITB match.

CM Punk is greater talent than Nitro and Mecury, and it's true. Take Benjamin, been in a few years with great talent and not being used right? It's the way 'Stephanie' likes the person.

Yeah, sound fake. Honestly, sounds bit too ridiculous to be true.

Besides, if it were true, you think there would be some kind legit medical record to support the claim. I mean, you would think (that is, if it were true), that daughter of chairman of mult-million (billion?) dollar corpation being put into the hospital by former employee is not something that would go unnoticed.

Well, didn't see that coming.  While I certainly don't buy Mercury charging Steph for not making 'Mania (I mean, Joey Mankind has had a lot of reasons to charge the creative team prior to this.  I mean he gets his face crushed and then goes on to be the fall guy in just about every match he's wrestled.  Matt Hardy has a winning record against him), I do buy that Mercury did something pretty stupid to draw this release.  Maybe he crushed a vase or something.  This comes a little too suddenly to be the typical "release because you aren't getting over with whatever non-push or lame gimmick creative gives you."  I think there are a lot of guys on that list before Joey Matthews, so I'm thinking he did do something stupid.

I think Joey will bounce back from whatever all right though, even if he may not ever be back in WWE.

I would lmao if they postponed Mercury's release if and had his last match against Triple H. Triple H would go stiff deliberately on him and then WWE could do the 'Mark Henry' deal where they wheel away the decomated opponent in a stretcher and he like -- never comes back.

So Matt Stricker, Kevin Thorne, and 'Cor Van deserve to be in WM but Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro don't? You don't have to like them, but in the past year think of the top 5 tag team matches and MNM should be in at least 3.

Marquise(I don't care if that's now how you spell it) Cor Van did border-line nothing in his singles career in ECW, and while Matt Stricker was involved a many shows I still think he is far from deserving.

Along with Kevin Thorne, it was like he was never in a steady feud or got legit heel heat.

Also, I like to point out yet again that The Londricks aren't in a match at WM. But Khali is. So this whole "deserving" arguement can pretty much boil down to nothing.

Yeah, instead of 'rate' I thought he said 'hate.'

My bad bro, even though I still agree with my statements. So I guess it was like I was agreeing with him.

Along with Kevin Thorne, it was like he was never in a steady feud or got legit heel heat.

Also, I like to point out yet again that The Londricks aren't in a match at WM. But Khali is. So this whole "deserving" arguement can pretty much boil down to nothing.

you probably misread, he was saying that he rated mnm higher than anyone in the new breed, not the other way around.

Oh.

Yeah, instead of 'rate' I thought he said 'hate.'

My bad bro, even though I still agree with my statements. So I guess it was like I was agreeing with him.

And that's the problem with the union. People blindly agree with themselves too much. You guys need to start accepting other peoples opinions as you own.

:P

Anywho, where does this leave Johnny Nitro? I know he'll probably be in that Raw v Smackdown battle royal they do before the show, but where's he going after WM? I hope he still gets the push he deserves.

Now without Mercury, wouldnt mind seeing Nitro tagging with Kenny Drystra. IMO both are better in tag matches than singles.

[QUOTE="gtx-1"][QUOTE="ff7cloudking"]I actually enjoyed seeing Mercury to. damn. But, i do think that MNM deserved a WM match. Even though Joey wasnt over with the fans, Nitro is, and they've been there for like 2 years now? CM punk has been on TV for like 8 months, and he's in the MITB match.WWEMAN101

CM Punk is greater talent than Nitro and Mecury, and it's true. Take Benjamin, been in a few years with great talent and not being used right? It's the way 'Stephanie' likes the person.

Well, yeah, CM Punk is easily better than Nitro and Mercury. But IMO, they still deserved a WM match

the new breed hav WM match and i rate mnm higher the anyone in the new breed

So Matt Stricker, Kevin Thorne, and 'Cor Van deserve to be in WM but Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro don't? You don't have to like them, but in the past year think of the top 5 tag team matches and MNM should be in at least 3.

Marquise(I don't care if that's now how you spell it) Cor Van did border-line nothing in his singles career in ECW, and while Matt Stricker was involved a many shows I still think he is far from deserving.

Along with Kevin Thorne, it was like he was never in a steady feud or got legit heel heat.
