Well if you remember at the end of his first run he was starting to get Eugene'd (Big pops becoming big silence) so I bet thats what would happen a little after he came back.
I guess there is a story on PWInsider about why he was released. something about him being out of shape.
I'd go get the link but my Computer hates PWInsider.com.
On personal note, I am most certainly will not be missing him... After all, a) he was prone to injury, b) he was absolutely terrible in-the-ring, c) his gimmick was beyond repetitive and d) considering the fact he was in his early '40s, not exactly as if he had bright future ahead of him.
However, with all of that being said, I am some what surprise to see him be released. Regardless of personal my dislike, I have admit, before he was injured, without doubt, he was easily one of the most 'over' workers on the WWE roster. Also, if booked correctly, he probably could have been huge draw and in matter of speaking, he could have been the modern version of The Undertaker. (However, it would have been some what difficult for the Boogeyman to work main-event level, considering the fact he could not work match past few minutes).
It's really annoying that they released him after they made so much hype about him coming back. I knew he wouldn't make it though.
Somewhere, Jim Cornette is slapping somebody.
Also, wasn't it so worth it to put Boogey over Booker T at Wrestlemania?
Also, doesn't this mean that Boogey's going to have an undefeated WWE record? He and Kazarian should celebrate.Â
The gimmick ran its course and once it lost its novelty, there was no substance to back it up. I do agree with Link that there are parallels to Taker in Boogeyman, but it wasn't meant to be. For one, Boogey's not that much younger than Taker is right now and didn't come in with a fraction of what Taker brought to the table in a match.
Thanks for the laughs, Boogeyman. You turned a negative into a positive with your gimmick and were entertaining when you weren't in the ring.
Hear Hear. Or is it Here Here? I think that this is the only guy to be released with a major undefeated streak (Not Velocity JObbers) in WWE?Somewhere, Jim Cornette is slapping somebody.
