TNA is no more. That will be the headlines in a few months, IMHO. I really can't believe that SPIKE is that stupid!
I can not remember, so I figure that this is the best place to ask this. Isn't this the same TV company that had a helping hand in ECW disappearing?
I think it's safe to say that TNA is officially on the road to ruin.
I don't blame Spike one bit for this. It's smart business on their part. TNA has failed to produce any real results, while The Ultimate Fighter is one of their hottest shows. As someone else said, TNA did this to themselves. Period. They are their own worst enemy.

god that is terrible. i feel so bad for everyone that had their hopes on a primetime special.
why does Spike think airing it at 11 p.m. the best idea? kids aren't gonna stay up that late to watch it and i know lots of people won't stay up to watch it if they think it'll still be the same crap that was on the week before. what they should do is air it at 9 p.m. between primetime and latenight.

Never said it was a "monumental flop". The fact is, it didn't produce results that would justify a prime time slot. If that's their reasoning, then i agree with them. It goes beyond what i personally think is better. Ultimate Fighter has been has gotten consistent 2.0's. Impact, as noted by JML, has been getting pathetic upper 0.'s. Facts are facts. Impact has only broken the 1.0 barrier once with little to no viewership increase overall. If there was any major signs of growth, then i'd be calling Spike on this decision right with you. But there isn't. As it stands now, TNA has no future. Evidence has shown that Ultimate Fighter does. I think you misinterpreted what i was saying in that particular sentence. I'm saying that Spike made the right decision to push Ultimate Fighter over TNA, not the right decision to bury TNA with a crappy timeslot.
Well, once TNN, always TNN. I thought Spike was really going to get behind TNA, but that does not seem to be the case. Not only do they keep them at one hour, which TNA has shown no capability to produce anything solid in that time, but now they move them to a worse timeslot. Gotta wonder when the replay is gonna be.
Hopefully, this isn't the beginning of the end for TNA, but the signs are not looking positive. Its been a good run TNA... Well, its been a run.
This will certainly not do any favors for locker morale, to say the least.
And yeah... if their original timeslot of Saturdays at 11:00 pm was not bad enough... timeslot of Thursdays at 11:00 pm is that much worse... good amount of their target audience will be in bed, due to school and/or work... Good job, Spike TV!

Okay... After reading this I'm not as upset/confused by what would bring Spike to do something like this. I honestly had no idea that the Ultimate Fighter ratings were that high, so in this particular scenario.... *sigh*.... I have to agree with the decision of pushing Ultimate Fighter over iMPACT. When you do think about it from a business perspective, you honestly can't say that Spike is making the wrong decision b/c they are, first and foremost, a business.
I just don't think that iMPACT should be pushed back 2 hours. Move Ultimate Fighter to the 9pm timeslot and have TNA air at 10pm.
You know what The_Dude, it now makes sense. Spike is TNN and they are the same people that screwed ECW because WWE was moving to that network. So now Spike is promoting UFC more then TNA. keiblerfan69
Thanks for answer my question. That is what I thought but I couldn't remember if it was the same network or not.
They are doomed. Spike is not going good with their decision making. I mean, gee - Back in the day Turner was smart with how he positioned WCW, WWE is doing the Saturday Night Main Event again. Spike is killing TNA. They should make it an hour and give it a 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. Saturday slot to get more of its viewership up.
Spike for TNA is like Warner trying to mess with a Batman or Superman movie. It turns out horrible.
