Alright i am opening up a debate on The Winner of the Royal Rumble:Rey Mysterio.

Throughout the night, i have heard several complaints of Rey's victory. Some say he didnt deserve it because hes a little guy, some say Why'd the F***ing Midget win? Others say they are glad he won, and some say Randy Orton should be going to Wrestlemania. Well, since this is a debate, here is my opinion and mine alone. Im not saying my opinion is better than yours and if it sounds like i am then i apologize.

Rey Mysterio is one of the best technical wrestlers of this age. Everytime his music hits the crowd goes wild. Whenever he meets a challenge he faces it head on and fights until he can't anymore. He has proved this everytime he steps into the ring. I think Randy Orton does not deserve the Rumble win at all. He has had the title already, which he lost very quickly. He has beaten the Undertaker how many times? Big Deal, one guy, and he didnt even beat him the last time or the first time. He tapped out to Benoit on Smackdown last week. He, in my honest opinion, needs to start being a better wrestler and start winning before he can win the Royal Rumble.

Back to Rey Mysterio, i have heard others keep saying he only won because his friend, the late and great Eddie Guerrero passed away. That is a crock of **** to be honest with you. I also heard someone say he dedicates everything to him. Well, i will say one thing and one thing only to this. If my best friend had passed away, i would dedicate everything in my life to him.

Well, i think Rey Mysterio deserves his win and deserves to go to Wrestlemania 22 to face for the title. He may, he may not, we will see what happens. I choose not to believe the story of him not getting to until it actually happens.

Let the Debate begin

I dont see Rey going on to win the title, Vince wouldn't take it a step further and let Rey win the title in honour of Eddie. Orton will get his shot, and become champion at WM22, at least thats what i think.

In my view, Rey Mysterio isn't a cruiserweight. Whenever I think of lightweights / cruiserweights whatever you call them I immediately think of HBK and Christian. They are both deemed heavyweights and have both made it to the top of the world ladder. Rey Mysterio doesn't even look like a cruierweight. He looks, well...fat. The weights he seems to have put on makes him look like he doesn't belong there. His wrestling abilities are definitely that of someone who could hold a wrestlemania main event.

However, I think that others deserve it more...

Kane - Should have won it b/c he has never experienced a true World Title reign.

Booker T - His loyalty to the company just show why he should have won. It would have been even more of a shock to everyone.

Randy Orton - Ditto of Kane but also would have re-mounted his pu$$ywhipping of what happened at Armaggeddon.

I have to disagree with you on that, because I do think that if Eddie was still alive then Ray Mysterio would not have won the Royal Rumble.

Now I do think he desevers to win it, but not just because his best friend died.

Another thing why would the WWE even let Ray win it if there not going to let him Main Event Wrestlemaina 22?

This whole thing is just messed up to start with.

This is what i have to say about the entire thing, i am very disapointed because Rey won the Rumble, it wouldnt make me so mad but he was number 2, i think a guy that small should get thrown out within 10 mins., anyways if he was number 30 and won i would still be mad but not as mad as i am, i think Rey is very overrated, he is a very good wrestler but he shouldnt be beating the giants in this industry, he should stay in his own weight class and things would be more interesting.

I agree, when rey beats a huge guy likeJBL, who is several times bigger it looks dumb. the Cruiserweight title shud be like the world title to his weight group.

If the cruiser title was more like the X division than it wud be a worthy prize of his skill, but its not. WWE uses cruiserweights as whipping boys. So the WH title is reasonable. The Cruiserweight title has to regain some Prestige cos rite now it is an embarrassment that peeps like Funaki wear. As much as i like rey rey, The US title is more his league. WWE STOP using cruiserweights as jobbers and leave them in their own weigh group. Whats the point of having a weight group if peeps like scotty are facing peeps like JBL in I Quit matches on smackdown.

This topic is really heating up. I dunno what to make of Rey winning. I'm happy and not so glad at the same time. This is very controversial.

My only problem with Rey's win is that Rey Mysterio is not Rob Van Dam and anything short (no pun intended) of RVD winning the Rumble would leave me disappointed.

I definately think he's better than the alternatives, those being Triple H and Randy Otron.

Incorrect.  One other person has won the Royal Rumble from the #2 position.  That person, none other than Vince McMahon in 1999.

I like Rey.  I think he's a good wrestler and he is one of the top faces in the WWE.  He's not main event calibur.  Alot of people may have heard me, on numerous occasions, voice my disdain with the WWE and the way they handle the CW.  By this I meant that they don't get any tv time so it's almost like they don't exist, not that they don't get major title pushes.  In my eyes, there isn't any reason that Rey won except for his dedication.  I'm not saying that it's cheap he dedicated it to Eddie, I'm saying that he shouldn't have won b/c he did that.  In my eyes Rey wasn't even in the top 5 candidates to win.

1) RVD - how do you hype someone that much and then not deliver?  Damn you WWE... damn you all the way to hell.
2) Big Show - I'm tired of him being billed as the "biggest superstar in WWE history" and then getting eliminated by Triple H.
3) Kane - If you are gonna make him seem like a monster and then have him tossed, also by Triple H, then you're just contradicting yourself.
4) Randy Orton - I know alot of people don't think he deserved to win, but it's not his fault that Taker's ego is too damn big for his own good and he was made into Taker's *****.
5) Shawn Michaels - There isn't a doubt in my mind that if HBK wasn't feuding with McMahon that he would've been a huge favorite to win.

Once again.... Rey is a great competitor.  Right now I don't think his victory in the Rumble is anything except for a win because of his dedication to Eddie.  I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it's just not the fair thing.

I will admit, like many others RVD was my first choice (and I was very upset when he was eliminated from the Rumble). However, Mysterio was strong second of mine and I am very happy it was Mysterio who won the Royal Rumble.

Also, yes... I can expect the debate about Rey-Rey only winning because of his friend Eddie dying...that has some good logical points and has made me think about it. Whether I agree or disagree is not the point...the point is that debate has some logical point to it and I can respect that.

However, the debate I refuse to expect is one that lacks logic, IMHO...the one about Rey Mysterio's size. I thought most of us internet folks had involved beyond that type of black/white thinking, but guess not. I am sorry, but someone not being good enough simply because their size is silly/stupid agruement, IMHO. Mysterio is great competitor and one of the top personalities in WWE...I see no reason why Mysterio size should stop him.

Also, another argument I have head is that cruiserweights such as Paul London should have won it, he is better worker than Mysterio and there are other cruierweights better than Mysterio.

Yes, I would agree Paul London is better worker than Mysterio (and I am big fan of London's), but London lacks what Rey-Rey has...and that is creditability.

Rey Mysterio is great worker who has paided his "dues" by working in this buisness for years and years and he has earned his moment of glory and simply put...London has not...not yet, anyhow.

Those are my two cents...enjoy. :)

I don't mind Rey Mysterio at all, in fact he's qutie entertaining, but the only reason he won was becase of Eddie Guererro's death (R.I.P), in which case, why didn't chavo win? Or at least of made the top two. Rey and Chavo would have been better, and made more sense than Rey and Orton.

im gonna go out on a limb here and say that the whole "rey and orton" thing could lead to a triple threat match with angle for the title. but then again im probably wrong :P i am very happy that mysterio got the chance to win the rumble. he well deserves it after all of his work in wrestling.

THANK YOU, i agree with you a 100%..... i know rey is a great wresltler..... but he is TOO OVERRATED, he shouldnt be facing Mark Henry, nor JBL, nor any of those heavyweights..... his matches nowadays look too fake, except the ones hes had with MNM, wich proves that he should stay with that category.... it wouldnt bother me to see him fight Angle for the Tittle, since the two of them always give great matches, but just not at WM, and not using eddies name.... if someone was to use eddies name i would say Benoit cause they really went tru A LOT together and people would b realllyyyy excited about benoit and angle for WM.... him winning the rumble from the 2nd position sucked...... he should have entered at 10 or so, i hated that...... i must say i am truly dissapointed with the wwe's screwup... giving the title back to Cena, having mark henry on TV, having Rey win the rumble from the 2nd spot and using eddies name for that.... i think they should be more serious and respectful when refering to eddie... not that its bad to have honored the match for him.... but to have won it for that its really sad
