Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will take place July 15 at 8/7 CT in Dallas, is right around the corner. And after meeting together this afternoon, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long, ECW Representative Paul Heyman and Mr. McMahon’s Executive Assistant Jonathan Coachman announced a number of matches and events for the Saturday spectacular.

Representing RAW, WWE Champion Edge will defend his gold against former Champion John Cena. Plus, for the first time in six months, Batista will return to in-ring action as he teams up with World Champion Rey Mysterio and United States Champion Bobby Lashley to take on King Booker, Mark Henry and Finlay. And all three brands will be represented in the first-ever Bikini Bull Riding Contest. Taking part in the unique event will be RAW’s Torrie Wilson, Maria, Women’s Champion Mickie James, Candice and Victoria; SmackDown’s Kristal, Ashley, Jillian and Michelle McCool; and ECW’s Kelly Kelly.

Also, Mr. McMahon announced on RAW last week that D-Generation X would be taking on the entire Spirit Squad in a 2-on-5 Elimination Match.

well i am a big wrestling fan, but thats why im gonna watch iMPACT! the thursday before SNME to see a full hour of wrestling, then saturday have some fun lookin at hot ladies:) and wrestling of course:)

I don't think this SNME will do any better than the last one. Anyone else think so?

plus, I can see why they did the 3v3 tag match basically being faces vs. heels..but why mark henry instead of William regal? that would of been the complete stable of the "king's court". I know since Batista is on the other team he will feud with henry that match, but I don't think it will make that big of a difference.

edge v cena? I have a bad feeling cena will win the title that night...because I see nobody interfering, and the WWE would NEVER have john cena loose cleanly.

and I would rather see a match from ECW superstars that night, rather than a bikini rodeo thing...

Replace Henry with Regal and I'm happy. I don't understand why they have to make Tista and Henry feud...I know Henry "injured" him, but who in their right minds wants to see that feud? Well...maybe I'm wrong...maybe some of you want to see Mark Henry get his backside handed to him for a change from his normal squash matches.

DX vs the Spirit Squad! YAY! A match we've never seen before! Oh... wait :roll: Seriously, how many times can we sit through that match and its inumerable variations. I'm all for building a feud up and all, but honesstly, putting the same people in the same match every week is just lame.

As for the rest of this card... it looks lacklustre at best. If anything, this one looks weaker on paper than the last one did, IMO. I'm not feeling the SD match, I'm reluctant about the Cena / Edge match in case Edge gets another two week title reign, and... Kelly in a rodeo bikini contest? Nothing says Extreme like that, huh? :roll:

I see X-Pac coming back and teaming back up with Shawn and Trips making it a 5-on-3 elimination match. As for the other matches, not looking forward to them (aside from the smackdown one, but replace Henry with Regal dammit!)

Well, SNME looks highly skippable.  Thanks again, RVD.

Cena vs Edge could be solid enough.  However, without RVD, this match loses alot (most... all) of its appeal.  You've gotta worry that Edge is going to get the shaft once again, even though he's the right guy to carry the belt.  Then again, Triple H is a face now...

The Smackdown match could be fun enough.  Why it has to be a handicapped macth, though, baffles me.  Mark Henry still sucks.

Hopefully, it won't be like the last SNME,where these would be the only matches.

I think this show looks decent. Not a stellar card, but it's decent. I sure hope an Extreme Rules match are on the card though.

And with the amount of sweat he produces coming down the ring, he counts as at least 4.

As for the current card, I'll be skipping most of the show. Add some ECW matches and at least one more match, and I'll watch it.

I thought that too but I don't think it's sweat, I think he pours water on himself before he comes out so when he screams "SHUT YO MOUF" and shakes his had it splashes everywhere to look intimidating....maybe? I mean that can't be sweat.....can it? :o
