I am certainly excited about ECW's December to Dismember PPV next month. With one match already in the works, I'll be watching the show for sure whether or not I have to pay to see it on Sky Box Office.
The EEC (Extreme Elimination Chamber) concept fits the brand's theme entirely. The EC match, that debuted at Survivor Series 2002, gave the match type a "got to be great" reputation. That was until the others followed since then, minus New Year's Revolution 2005 which wasn't as bad as the other three to date. Hopefully this EC match will restore my view on the match type and its significance when booked for a PPV.
Okay, I'm going to now break down some notes and factors. It's being called the Extreme Elimination Chamber, emphasising it's more violent than the regular Elimination Chamber match. Does the 'Extreme' just highlight the brand and it's participants being 'Extremists' or will the match be surrounded by weapons as such or new stipulations?
Now onto the participants:
1 - Big Show -- His title reign began on a rough note, especially with his reoccuring title defences to random 'Superstars' each week on ECW. However, I've grown to actually not mind the Big Show's title run since he's currently displaying the best he can. As long as his involvment in this match is at the same level as he is in his matches on ECW each week, and not like his performance in the Punjabi Prison match, he shouldn't terribly ruin the rest of the match.
2 - Rob Van Dam -- MOTM, (Man of the Match). You only need to see his performance in the first EC match in 2002 to not disagree with me on that factor. That match being one of my all-time favourites had RVD play a lot to push it up my top list. The 'Spiderman' jump from the buckle to the chain, rolling thunder over the ropes on top of the steel flooring, the frog splash from the top of the chamber, amongst God knows how many other moments made me mark out incredibly. I was very disappointed to see him eliminated first indeed. Anyway, I have no doubts that RVD will and probably can give me more memories to cherish in this year's EEC.
3 - Sabu -- Really, need I say more? He'll be jumping from the top of each chamber for the hell of it. Heck, God knows what he'll do if he brings a chair inside. I'm thinking of Sabu/Abyss from that barbed wire massacre match but with a lot more metal involved this time.
More onto the participants until they get officially announced, without having to spoil it for anyone who hasn't already read the SPOILERS.
