On starting his own promotion: If I can do what I want to do in the next few months then this will be bigger than anything ever done before in wrestling. You've seen WrestleMania, the nWo, UFC, steel cages, PPV - but this is something completely different again. Someone else gave me the idea and I said go ahead go and do this crazy thing. It is something I would have never dreamed of. It would be like inventing an engine that runs on air that kind of an idea. Wrestling needs to be about the art form again. It needs to be about painting a picture and having a really good match. Whether the guy can dropkick off the top of the cage or, like me, his boots never leave the ground - it's about understanding what this business is about. The best wrestlers, whether it's a Hulk Hogan or a Rey Mysterio, are the ones who have psychology and can understand this business.

On whether anyone can challenge WWE: Definitely. If you look at the numbers when I was in WCW, we used to beat them every week. We had three times the audience of Vince. He was facing bankruptcy. Then AOL merged with Time Warner and said we do not want wrestling on our stations, and that was the end of WCW. Right now, Vince's stuff has been compromised. With all respect to TNA, the WWE is the only option people really have - but it is not at the level of the quality of programming that Vince usually puts out.

On going back to WWE: Never say never, but I think it would be highly unlikely.

On whether Hogan vs. Cena and Hogan vs. Austin will ever happen: Somewhere down the road, Hulk Hogan v John Cena could definitely happen. But Austin? Well his claim to fame - rather than slamming Andre The Giant or beating Vince every week in the ratings - is that Austin v Hogan is something he'll never let happen.

Check out the full interview here.

I can't believe that WWE wrestlers still blame AOL even though the ratings where clearly declining before the mergers.

Here in 2007 there is no promotion with Hogan in control or as the star that can challenge WWE.

THA HULKSTER

Hogan helped WCW beat Vince in the ratings in the mid-90s -- we know that. But what Hogan seems to be forgetting, is that Austin was the main reason "Vince" ended up on top. Although he probably earned it, Hogan's ego is so huge it's unbelievable.

That, and seems as if Hulk Hogan refuses to accept or acknowledge the possibility that as much as he helped WCW, he provided equal or greater amount of hurt as well, the very same hurt that help to contribute to WCW's eventual death.

Wow. Its about time people find out the truth about Austin. He's not the legend you all think. He's in it just for the money and will never do the job.

Hogan>>>>Austin.

oh but hogan loves the buisness! he wont do a ppv for anything more than $1,000,000. I guess that is what happened when you are the crappiest wrestler in the biz.Hogan probably wouldnt of had that match with Michaels if Hogan was suppose to lose. Face it!!!At the EndHogan grabs his tights and runs home if he doesnt get his way.By the way.......Austin>>>>>>>>Hogan

Stone Cold ain't exactlya sainteither. When he was supposed to put over Lesnar, he walked out on the company. When he was supposed to lose to Coach and friends, he hurt his back moving furniture or something and couldn't make the show. Hogan-Austin isn't going to happen just because Hogan's an ego-maniac.

I'm not going to say that anyone has to like Hogan, especially these days, but you kids really should at least have a little respect for the guy. It really annoys me. He's easily done more for wrestling than everyone on this forum combined and probably done more for wrestling than any of us can even imagine doing.

LookI've never liked Hogan. I do respect him for what he did for wrestling in the 80's but it's time for him to go. He was one of the reasons WCW went out of business, he continually comes back to the WWE for a ton of money to win a few matches (and even become World Champ for a month back in 02) despite his age and the fact that he leaves for months afterwards. I'm glad I probably won't have to see him on WWE TV for a long time.

And while I agree that Austin is no saint either he is the lesser of two evils in my opinion.
