JR gives his two cents on TNA, Y2J, Arnold Skaaland, Teddy Hart + more!

Jim Ross posted his latest blog entry yesterday afternoon, which you can check out by clicking here.  Some highlights from this entry:

- He talks about Wrestlemania bringing an economic impact to Detroit and the surrounding area (including the casinos in Windsor, Ontario, Canada) and speculates that in the future cities will be bidding fro Wrestlemania the way they do the Super Bowl.

- Ross gives his remembrances of Arnold Skaaland, talking about his wrestling career and his first meeting with him. 

- JR notes that WWE wrestlers are "independent contractors" and pay their taxes quarterly based on estimated earnings.

- Concerning Teddy Hart, Ross writes, "Will the WWE hire Teddy Hart? I have no idea. He has had two chances in the WWE already. Will the 3rd time be the charm? Perhaps. Teddy has talent but there is more to being on the WWE roster than simply having physical skills."

- In regards to a WWE-TNA rivalry, Ross notes "In all due respect to all involved, the good folks at TNA have a few miles to travel before they arrive on the same level as the WWE. The huge misconception here is this; the decision makers at TNA simply need to focus on improving their product and not worry about an imagined war with the WWE. That is largely what the WWE did during the Monday night wars which cannot be compared to an updated Monday night war with TNA, in my opinion. This is not a personal attack on TNA or anyone else but the simple fact is most businesses get better when they focus on what they are doing and not what the alleged competitors are up to."

- Regarding the new PPV setup, Ross writes "Apparently all three brands will be featured at all upcoming WWE PPVs which should provide the fans more value for their PPV dollars and encourage more fans to watch these PPVs. I wonder if that means that all the announce teams will be required to be at these events as well? I can easily see where these multi branded PPVs will have more star power which is a positive."

- Answering another email he seems to get often, Ross writes "Of all the talents who have left the WWE for any number of reasons over the past couple of years the wrestler I would like to see most return would probably be Chris Jericho. Chris rarely ever had a bad match and is a highly entertaining and competitive individual. Brock Lesnar could also be doing really well financially if he were back in the WWE if he were focused and determined to be the best in the business."

- On the possibility of Hulk Hogan wrestling Jerry Lawler in Memphis: "I would guess that would be less than 50/50 but stranger things have happened in this whacky business. Perhaps if Hulk needs new material for his VH1 show I suppose through Jimmy Hart that it could happen but I would not bet a bottle of sauce that it will."
