The debut of WSX is a hot topic backstage at the Smackdown/ECW taping in Houston. Word is that Vince McMahon wants to make the ECW show tonight a big one in hopes of ruining the official WSX debut on MTV which will go head to head with the second half of ECW. ECW tonight will be headlined by Bobby Lashley vs. Test and an appearance by Vince McMahon.

How is his "speech" (which might I add was nothing more than a "ECW sucks" speech) going to effect who watches WSX and who watches ECW? By now people already know Vince's speeches are of no importance anymore, this plan has failure written all over it.

Man, that is pretty impressive.  It took TNA a few months on Spike to break that barrier and they don't draw that much more these days.  We'll have to see how it holds up, though.

Yeah after that crapfest of a rumble, which I still didn't understand how it worked. It might have lost some viewers. I'll still watch...for Nate Webb.

Yeah, I could not agree more, though, bigger audience of MTV probably helped matters...

Regardless... despite, shall we say, "questionable" quality of WSX debut, I am "happy" to see this kind of rating (and my honest hope its stays in that kind of range), because if this rumor is true, while I am not happy with kind of reaction that happened (you know, as in having more Vince McMahon on television), I am happy by the "fact" (well, you what I mean) caused Vince to have little bit of reality check, if only by small margin...

After all, God knows he needs one.....hopefully (as I mentioned before) competition of WSX will continue because is going to take lot more than that (if only by measure of "ECW"), before Vince will wake from his dream state and plunge back into reality...

Though, with that being said, all of this is probably unlikely at best....

Here is little more detail on that news:

The official debut of WSX on MTV last night did a 1.0 rating going head-to-head with ECW On Sci-Fi. That is considered a huge success by virtually everyone and more than doubles what MTV usually draws in the same timeslot.

Seein how MTV is a huge brand, if they keep going and with with the correct funding WSX could turn into a new "ECW".

TNA could also grow to an WCW size in the next few years (Unless they go bankrupt, :P)
