PWInsider is reporting that Rey Mysterio has been working through a really bad knee injury for a while now. It's said that he will need surgery, but doesn’t want to take any time off because this is his time on top in the company and the Smackdown roster is pretty light right now.
It's likely that WWE will wait until Batista comes back to Smackdown before they take the title off Rey.
Whenever the title does come off Rey, he will likely get checked out by a doctor and scheduled for surgery.
Well this is bad news for Rey, I hope everything works out for him and he doesn't have to drop the title becuase of this.

Well do not count on it, because Rey has had a history of Knee problems, he has had at least 2 knee surgeries over the years on his knees, one of them was for a torn ACL and I am not sure, what the other one was for, but this is very bad news for him
Plus Kid Kash with a broken arm, Gregory Helms with a broken nose, and didn't Paul London get injured by Juventud after winning the CW title? AcolyteV1
Actually, Paul London had already been the CW champion for about 4 months, when that happened.
Also, yeah... Juventud injured Paul London by 'botching' 450 splash and landing his knee on London's face... this caused him two be out of action for about week or two... nothing serious, it was simply case of WWE being safe.
