Matt Hardy Segment Staged!

Matt Hardy returned to WWE RAW on Monday as part of a "worked shoot" angle. In addition to attacking Hardy and getting "arrested" for his actions, the WWE wrestler also threw in a plug for Ring Of Honor and some anti-WWE and anti-Johnny Ace comments.

While the fact that Hardy returned to WWE has led to question about the sincerity of his message board posts, sources indicate that the beginning of the story was absolutely true: Lita did have an affair with Edge. Thus, the initial sympathy for Hardy's position was deserved, although sometime between the initial fallout and Monday's RAW, Hardy began working his message board visitors.

Matt Hardy officially inked a return deal with WWE a week or two ago; the company began showing serious interest after the Lita-Edge wedding, in which Hardy's teased entrance video elicited a huge pop from the crowd. McMahon took that as proof that bringing Hardy back into the fold was a worthwhile investment.

In signing with WWE, Hardy turned down a very lucrative offer from TNA. Although the looser contract was appealing, at the end of the day, Hardy opted to go for the company with more exposure and a brighter future. Had TNA announced a deal with Spike TV a few weeks ago, Monday's return angle might not have happened.

Sources at RAW report that Matt Hardy did not have much of a presence backstage at the show. He simply showed up, worked his angle, and left. If he did communicate with Edge and Lita, it was done in a very private setting.

Matt Hardy will next be seen this Saturday in Ring Of Honor. It is unknown for how long WWE will allow Hardy to work outside dates as part of the "anti-WWE" gimmick

Sorry peeps, I know Hardy has been saying stuff in his website of how it wasn't staged, but it was just basically a storyline.

While it was staged, everyone here has to admit that it was one of the best staged skits every, if not the best. I mean, if story-line makes you question that much if it is real or fake, you know it is great.

Remember, Kane has been involved in this story-line sense day one, even if it is purely only story-line. I would love to see some Kane & Matt action kicking butt on the part of Snitsky and Edge.

I just realized that this could be the first match ever between a contracted TNA wrestler and a contracted WWE wrestler.

My computer was messed up for a long while so i didnt get to see all the matt hardy nonsense but it sounds great they created a website a forum making people beileve Matt Hardy was talkin to them and was gonna rebel against the WWE. Yes, while it was plot hole of him using the mic, it was great way to set up the story-line and get the fans hyped up (which it did). Besides, the way the guards took him down, was the most real looking aresset for a story-line I have ever seen on WWE/F television and was nice way to cover up the plot hole.

While there was a couple of small plot holes, it was one of the best writen story-lines I have ever seen in my life. I mean, that is great the way they made the fans question if it was real or fake, I loved how they made it look like it was really happening. I am finally glad to see that WWE is thinking in new ways of writing story-lines and realizing that the same old story-lines are not working as well, hopefully they try and use the internet against with future story-lines and the WWE continues to think of new ways of writing story-line. This is the kind of thing that made the Attitude era so great IMHO, WWE trying to keep us fans off-guard and thinking in new directions.

It's posts like these that are this whole angle an edge (pardon the pun) the WWE hasn't seen in a long time. If this is done right, it could realistically launch Edge and Hardy to the main event scene and make Hardy a Pillman-esque internet hero.

Vince and the WWE are trying to turn a real life situation into a storyline. Matt broke up with Lita because she started :shock: with Edge...and the WWE fired Matt while making Edge and Lita into a "couple" on TV. This is not a good idea. Anyway Vince saw the fan reactions and decided he could make money from this so he brought Matt back in a "anti-wwe" storyline as if he really isn't back but just trying to get revenge. This way more people will watch RAW.wwervin

You have to admit that they did the skit on Raw last night really great and that it is a smart move by WWE. I see nothing wrong with it, if Matt, Edge and Lita are cool with it, I do not see a problem with it.

By the way, it is a great idea IMHO!

I totally agree with you, lets hope this is a sign of WWE not being as lazy with the story-lines and try to do more new kinds of story-lines, such as the Matt-Edge-Lita-Kane-Snitsky and anyone else involved story-line.

It would have been awsome if Matt Came out and scewed Edge in a title match were Edge use'd his Contract so no more title shot.
