The Sun UK reports that Mick Foley will be going to TNA once his current WWE deal expires on 9/1, based on what a "close friend" of Foley told them. According to the report, Foley would have a deal similar to the one Sting has and would only work select dates. TNA's official comment is that they haven't even spoken to Foley about coming in, but they may be saying that as a way to keep Foley's jump to TNA a surprise.

Foley had actually reached a verbal deal with TNA awhile back before he signed his current WWE deal. Foley has even written about how his relationship with Vince McMahon was never the same after he came so close to going to TNA, even though he ultimately didn't go and ended up coming back to WWE.

PWInsider.com adds that Foley may also pop up for a few ROH shows once his WWE deal ends as he is a big fan of the promotion.

UPDATE: The Gillespie Agency (Which represents Foley and Ric Flair) in South Carolina is expected to release an offical statement regarding Mick Foley's departure from WWE after 1st September, When his WWE contract expires. Which there's a lot of expectation that Foley is TNA-bound, TNA ae keeping it very close to the vest smilar to when they signed Kurt Angle in 2006. [Creidt: PWinsider.com]

UPDATE 2: Mick Foley and TNA have reached an agreement and Foley is expected to officially sign his TNA deal soon. He could debut soon after his WWE contract expires on September 1st.

SpikeTV is involved with the deal and may be helping TNA pay his contract, as they do with Sting. Foley may also be involved with other SpikeTV shows down the line.

There was some buzz backstage among the wrestlers at the Impact tapings this week that Foley will be coming in soon. [Credit: PWTorch.com]

UPDATE 3: In a recent interview, Mick Foley was asked about leaving WWE for TNA. He said he didn't know where those rumors came from. Then, when asked point blank if he has signed a deal with TNA, Foley said he had not but that he may "try out a PPV with them." Foley's WWE deal expires in a few days.

UPDATE 4: With his contract set to expire tomorrow, WWE.com has removed Mick Foley from the Smackdown roster page. [411mania.com]

If it means that I will see Foley in ROH, then I'm all for this. Foley doesn't really need to stay in the WWE, and WWE doesn't need him either.

I think Foley going to TNA, not for him. As for ROH, yes it's for him. He'll do some great things there.

Part of the charm of Foley being there was him feuding with Punk, Joe, and Steamboat.

Who is he gonna feud with? Sweeney? I'm kind of skeptical.

Could it be true.

I don't really think so but the same thing I think happened with Kurt Angle, but still I don't think Foley will do it, no matter what.

Being an Englishman, I can state the Sun is a very dodgy paper to trust. It's a load of biased **** most of the time, so take it with a pinch of salt.

That's only football. They seem to be the only newspaper in the UK that cares about wrestling. It might be half decent in terms of wrestling if they take it THAT seriously.

Same thing could be said for lot IWC news. I mean, most of it just second-hand information, or hear-say, anyhow.

i just saw this on ign and had to come here to see if its true which i really dont see the point in this as foleys career is WWE his legend is WWE and thats pretty much what made him famous that said even if he goes to TNA what can he do? the poor guy cant wrestle anymore hell he looks like he can barely walk half of the time so outside of "managing" someone this really seems like ap pointless switch unless its all a vince is evil so hes leaving.

otherwise quite honestly i have to wonder how many matches he possibly has left in him and while i dont get a chance to see smackdown normally id think commentating is a good role for him but i could be wrong it could of sucked. either way im not sure the point of TNA signing him since really he cant wrestle anymore. i could be wrong but looks like he can barely move sometimes. not that i havent enjoyed his career but thats what you get when you take the brutal punishment this guy is willing to take on an almost nightly basis while looking like he has never gone to a gym before doesnt help(no not saying he hasnt wolked out before just saying he has always looked fat and out of shape and made me wonder how the hell he does it)

Obversly you don't know of Foley's time in ECW, though his HIAC match with Taker put i popularity though the roof. There's nothing much he can do in WWE neither. Plus seening as how next year is mean't to be Foley's last year in wrestling, He maswell have some matches as it looks like WWE aren't giving him some.

no i am well aware he had a career outside of WWE but merely speaking WWE is where foley got famous in particular that taker match that is true but id be inclined to beleive if it werent for the WWE foley wouldnt be half as famous as he is today but that aside i stand by it the guy i really doubt he has any more matches left.

and this is his last year of wrestling? really? the guy has had a ton of i quit and getting fired angles that its ridiculous and long breaks and cant seem to have but 3 matches a year if that for the very reason his body seems to just give out. like i said i doubt this will be his final year in wrestling? i doubt that nobody really ever retires permanently at least foley doesnt appear to be quiting forever and i doubt he will he will probably always come and go and for WWE i think that was a good role for him. and in TNA eh i just cant see him doing much maybe if he was younger but not anymore. and hell probably be sayin g its his last match in 10 years as well and still kick out 1 match a year at least. and vince probably wont give him a match because he cant go full time which leaves eating up a ppv match and honestly i dont think he has the match selling appeal anymore cause he cant be the crazy hardcore guy anymore on a regular basis and that is his appeal. i think foley would love to be able to still do it but he just cant. which in TNA what exactly is he going to do there? come and go wrestle 2 matches and bring in yet another big name and still fail to get TNA above 1.3 rating?
