My Rant on the Women's Division

2002-2004, we had what is arguably the Golden Age of the Women's Division with such wrestlers as Jazz, Gail Kim, Molly, Trish, Lita, and Victoria. Some truly great matches happened. Lita/Trish, Trish/Victoria/Lita/Gail Kim, Trish/Victoria, Molly/Victoria, and more. The title was actually worth something. Then Firefest '04 and '05 happened. We lost Gail, Jazz, Molly, and Nidia. So the only remaining wrestlers are Lita, Victoria, Trish, and to a lesser extent, Stacy. I'm not doubting her abilities, I'm just saying compared to Trish, Victoria, and Lita, she just isn't the best. And then the WWE tries to push Christy as a wrestler. They give her a Wrestlemania match for her first true 1 on 1 match, which she then continues to RUIN! She set up for moves early, she held a pin too long, etc. Trish and Lita become injured, and we are left with only Victoria. Since they refuse to let Stacy be a wrestler (She has potential to be great), we are stuck with a Victoria vs Christy match. Mr. McMahon is truly enamored with Christy, so they refuse to have a match where Victoria demolishes Christy, and so Victoria and has to cheat to win. Have you seen the size difference? Victoria actually has muscle! That is a complete inconsistency with Victoria, since on May 27, 2005 at a house show, Victoria pins Sylvan Grenier in LESS THAN A MINUTE! And she can't pin Christy legally? And then there is the fact that WWE refuses to acknowledge the 30 day rule. The last time Trish has defended her title was on 4/4/05. So, storyline wise, Trish should have the title stripped of her. And I'm not gonna mention the Diva Search

I agree, Victoria should be able to run over Christy with no problem what so ever, yet she is having tons of trouble trying to beat Christy, okay???

As far as Stacy, even with training and a push, she will never be a Lita, Victoria or Trish IMO, but she could be a decent women's wrestler.

Not at this moment IMO, she needs more training and experience before she become a decent women's champion IMO. As far as cage matches, I did not say anything about that, I was talking about wrestling skill. I was saying that NO matter HOW much training and push Stacy gets, she will NEVER be able to wrestle as good as Victoria, Trish or Lita. Come on, I know your a huge Stacy fan, but even you have admit she will never be a top women's wrestler (as far as skill goes).

I appreciate the rant and you have very valid points. The problem with this is that you're seeing this from the point of view of a wrestling fan. One that can appreciate a wrestling match from a male or female. Most of the WWE's audience is not made up of people like us. The WWE's audience is made of of people that didn't care about women wrestling until Sable was in Playboy. When the title got moved to Chyna, her championship was celebrated by her ending up in Playboy. Trish is becoming the greatest women wrestler ever because she is the complete package of everything the WWE looks for in a wrestler (looks, skills, and can work a mic) and still most of the crowd only acknowledges her when she's in something skimpy.

What this whole thing amounts to is that the WWE divas are not wrestlers, they're something nice to look at if the match is boring. They'll never be anything more than that in the WWE. Even during the Golden Age of Women Wrestling, most of the matches fell flat because no one cared (mostly because these women were either not good looking or not wearing something tiny enough).

The FireFest was nothing more than Vince finally acknowledging defeat and realizing that the majority of the WWE viewers (unfortuneately) want hot women in TV14 rated outfits rolling around and spanking each other instead of matches like before. The women's division needs to die at this point as it'll never be given the opportunity to be as good as anything else.

Actually, David Arquette droped the WCW championship (Thank-God), so he is not technically still the WCW champion. Either that or they stripped him of the WCW championship, either way, he not still technically the WCW champion.
