A recent article in WWE magazine discussed War Games as an event at the original Great American Bash. The article said, "Without it there'd be no Elimination Chamber or Kennel from Hell." Later it said, "At PPVs and events around the globe, WWE fans marvel at wicked steel-and-chain structures like the Elimination Chamber or the Cell." While it is not certain, this may a sign the WWE is no longer going to call the match Hell in a Cell in their continuing approach to be family friendly.

I was going to post this, but I just thought it was gonna get the same type of "F*** WWE! I'm sick of this PG crap!" comments that always occur when the WWE restricts anything else.

This is just speculation, anyway. The article did say the word "hell" earlier on.

Speaking of which, I am still surprised the WWE renamed the unprettier to the killswitch.

It doesn't matter whether it's A Hell In A Cell, A Rage In The Cage, A Painus In Uranus...The Rock

Pretty much sums up my feelings right there.

I thought the Kennel from Hell match was a different match altogether. No?

That match is a Cage and then a Hall in the Caell match, with dogs in the Middle, The Cage set up was good but the Part with the Dogs didn't really work.

Nice. I concur.

Anywho, Foley killed the Cell for me. I'm not saying everyone has to nearly kill themselves like Foley did, but what happened to creativity with the match? The Cell has become restrictive rather than an accessory. It still has value only because of what Foley, HBK and Taker did with it. It has degraded into a Hardcore match in a box and since its done that, I've stopped caring. Now, I'm not saying I expect everyone to take a dive off the top of the cell, that's unnecessary and dangerous, but I do want to see guys play with the Cell, rather than just let it confine matches.

For me personally, the last creative HIAC Match was Jericho/Trips Judgement Day 2002 (just for the fact that the referee went on top of the cell :P)

I never got to see that match. It wasn't good itself? The Jericho/HHH fued was as I recall one of the few fueds that HHH had around that time that was entertaining if I'm remembering correctly. To me it was largely because of Jericho..but the characters at the time just fit together well for a fued.

Oh, don't get me wrong it was a very good match. The reason I say its the last creative HIAC match is because it felt different. You had referee Tim White get injured, the replacing referee went on top of the cell(!) and it was the first and last HIAC (to date) to have it finish on top

Every HIAC after that has felt like it follows the same guidelines of using weapons and fighting in the cell (except for Taker/Edge when they went outside), and this has had mixed results. Some were great (Lensar/Taker, Trips/Batista), some were not so great (Trips/Nash, Trips/HBK 40 minute coma)

I agree with you Matty on the not so great. I had high hopes for Trips/HBK match but it was just drag out to death and long. Shawn was hurting and Trips was hurting and those two couldn't perform to their fullest potentials. It could've turn out great, but it didn't.

Triple H has been trying to get a War Games match going for years now, and if Triple H can't make that happen, there's little hope for one.

To me, that just goes to show that while Triple H may have some pull backstage, Vince is still the boss.
