WWE announced on Monday’s RAW that “Mean” Gene Okerlund will be inducted into its Hall Of Fame as part of the Class of 2006.
Okerlund originally requested that Bobby Heenan perform his induction speech, but since Heenan is already tentatively slated to induct The Blackjacks (their induction has not been formally announced), WWE instead gave the induction duties to Hulk Hogan.
Bret “Hit Man” Hart and Eddie Guerrero had previously been confirmed for this year’s induction. While not announced on television, Tony Atlas (with S.D. Jones as the inductor) is also reportedly a definite for the Class of 2006.
The Hall Of Fame Ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 1.
Okerlund, IMO, is one of the best that there has ever been in the business. If I'm not mistaken, I believe that he is the first anouncer ever to get inducted. IMO he is well deserving of this acknowledgment.
Well I think that this year's inducting class is turning out really well. Mean Gene is one of those people who definitely deserved this honor, because he has contributed so much to the success of all the people that proceeded him.

In all seriousness, they were a fine tag team throughout the 70's and are certainly induction worthy. However, they certainly don't take precedence over guys like the Ted, Steamboat, Jake, etc.
Oh, and Randy Svage in this year will not happen, since he and Hogan want to kill each other. Like Muta said, Atlas getting in before Steamboat and DiBiase is a joke.
