OVW News: WWE Fires Developmental Wrestler (Maybe Punk? Find Out Inside!)

World Wrestling Entertainment released OVW developmental talent Chris Cage over the weekend in what was said to have been a disciplinary move.

Cage held one half of the OVW Southern Tag Team championships, which necessitated a title change at yesterday's OVW house show in a singles match as Deuce Shade defeated Mike The Miz to capture The belts for The Untouchables.

Cage and Miz had worked several house shows and dark matches doing a "Hot Topic"/Punk tag team gimmick, although based on vignettes teasing Miz's Smackdown debut, that idea had been dropped.

Teasing the WWE dropping Punk is not cool, I got excited for about 1/3 of a second that I might actually get to see Punk wrestle again.

Anywho, I can't really comment on this guy except that this is a bad break for him.  However, if this, in some way, is keeping Mizanin off TV, then I feel its a good thing.
