OVW scored huge with a packed crowd again last night in Louisville, Kentucky, with a great show. Highlights include -

--CHRISTY HEMME DEBUTED. This was a total shock. Matt Cappotelli came out for a promo, but was interrupted by Beth Phoenix, who was furious over being superkicked last week. Beth slapped Cappotelli, who decided to walk away. But Beth jumped on Cappotelli's back. Cappotelli flung Phoenix off his back, and then Aaron "The Idol" Stevens attacked. Cappotelli and Stevens went at it, and then Shelly slid in and grabbed Cappotelli's leg, which gave The Idol an advantage. First, Micki James ran in to save Capapotelli, and was all over Beth and Shelly, but then tried a top rope huracanrana on Stevens, who reversed it into a powerbomb. Then Maria Kannelis, who is very over in OVW, tried to save Cappotelli and Micki, only to get pummeled by Beth and Shelly. This brought out Christy Hemme, who cleared the ring with Cappotelli as everyone was going just crazy.   They taped a 3-on-2 mixed tag team match for next week with Cappotelli and  Hemme defeating Idol, Beth, and Shelly with a little assist from Micki James, but Johnny Jeter and Mark Henry came in through the side door and after a great brawl left Cappotelli laying in the ring. Great match and angle.

--HEYMAN'S FIRST OVW TABLE SPOT,   At the beginning of the TV show, the former "Osama" came out with a table,  and starting setting it up next to Al Snow and Dean Hill. He said his name is Osama Rodrigues Allihandro, and while his mother is Palestinian, his father is Cuban, so this is the new Spanish Announce Table. He introduced Robbie Dawber as his co-host. Dawber, wearing a sombrero and carrying a Spanish-English dictionary, kept looking up words and would only say "Si!". They teased the table in the 3 Way Dance several times, but no one went through it. Finally, at the end of the show, Osama is on the mic, bragging that no one went through the Spanish Announce Table. From behind the desk, a closet door opened, and Boogeyman stepped out to an enormous pop. Osama ran away, and Boogeyman put Dawber through the table to end the show, with the audience chanting OVW OVW.

THREE WAY DANCE STEALS THE SHOW. Heyman pulled out all stops, including a 3 Way Dance for the OVW TV Title. This was billed as the first 3 Way Dance in OVW history. CM Punk vs. Ken Doane vs. Brent Albright. This is an OVW match of the year candidate. In the first fall, Doane tapped out when Albright locked on the sharpshooter while Punk had Doane in the Anacanda Vice. Doane came back out and shoved both men off the top rope when Albright was attempting a top rope superplex on Punk. Albright took a nasty spill and crashed into the guardrail. The referee counted both Punk and Albright out, but senior official Robert Brisco came out and said in OVW, we live up to our promises, and this match continues until one man emerges victorious over hte other two. He also made it No Disqualification, No Count out. Doane came back out later, but Brent Albright locked on another sharopshooter. Punk jumped on Albright and applied a standing version of the Anacanda Vice, while Albright held Doane in the sharpshooter. Doane tapped furiously, and then in a shock, Albright tapped (I believe for the first time in his career) and Punk retained the title. This match went almost 40 minutes and was great. http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=14748&p=1

I'm going to have to pick up one of these OVW DVDs in the near futre.

It's great to see Punk do so well in OVW. I know that I definitely was one of those people who said, "Punk will never get out of OVW. I hope he succeeds, but there's almost no chance of that happening." Now, it looks like a WWE debut(on the full-time roster) before 2007 is almost inevitable.

Then again, Paul Heyman has more of a brain than all of WWE creative combined, so I'm probably wrong.

Paul Heyman has more brain power in one of his brain cells than Stephanie McMahon has in her entire brain. :|

Totally agree. He is making huge noises and yet Vince doesn't hear that. Everyone else seem to hear it, but the egos of the McMahons are in the way of making good television show. If Eric gets booted from the GM desk, I want Paul Heyman be put in that position. But that is highly unlikely to happen, if it does come for Eric to leave the GM role.
