They both stand in the ring facing each other up and down but not to close. The crowd chanting jericho on one side, the other half chanting lets go taker. Then they begin. 30 minutes in taker gets the first pin with a tombstone, highlighting the fact that he ahs beaten so many and ended the match with this move only once used. However also highlighting the fact that all though jericho has been pinned its not over, this being an iron man match. 45 minutes in jericho locks in the walls of jericho but is unable to make taker tap. Jerichos momentum begins to build as the minutes begin to countdown. At 53 minutes we finaly see jericho pull of a lionsault and land it. Unable to pin the undertaker he hypes himself up with the crowd as taker rises to his feet, jericho charges in for a codebreaker but gets caught by the hand of undertaker ready for a chokeslam. Jericho manages to slip out of it and quickly reverses it now connecting with the code breaker. (Reversing it by being elavated in the air by takers choke slam would work well and appear to be out of nowhere as we haven't seen this done before to my knowledge.) After pulling of the codebreaker jericho's in for the pin, and at 55 minutes we are at a tie 1-1. As the minutes grind away both are exhausted, and at 57 minutes with taker barley able to stand, and jericho leaned up against the ropes catching his breath, both go at it with a hale of strikes and an irish whip by taker followed by a big boot. Leaning over with his hand in the air ready for a final choke slam, jericho bleeds on the floor as taker readys to finish it. Rising to his feet jericho plays possum with his back to taker stumbling. Jericho turns ready for taker to open up the choke slam, but before taker connects jericho ducks underneath, sweeping taker to the floor. As taker hits the floor with his front side lying on the mat, jericho with in seconds goes for the walls of jericho once more. 59 minutes and jericho has taker in the walls, taker struggles, shifting and trying to shuffle his way out of the walls as jericho grinds his teeth red headed from the exaustion and heat bearing down upon him. Chants begin to sound jerichos name and at 59.45 seconds we as an audience are now intense. Taker still struggling and at 60 minutes taker is unable to tap, with jericho furious he holds the walls knowing the time is up, eventually taker grabs the ropes and is able to lunge jericho off him. As jericho hits the floor both him and taker lie there. Jericho sweeping his hands through his sweaty hair with his back to the turnbuckle and taker in agony holding his leg on the other side of the ring. Astonished the audience begin to wonder whats going to happen and what this means to takers streak. He has neither won or lost at 1-1 draw. With taker now on the outside of the ring still barley able to stand but doing so, jericho rises to his feet in dismay. Both stand for a minute while the crowd are still confused, officials talking behind the announcers desk with the referee. The referee then enters the ring looking at both jericho and undertaker. Taker knows whats about to ahppen and steps back into the ring once more. Jericho shaking his head with frustration. The announcer comes over the tanoid and says "It has been decided that this match is not over until either one has pinned or forced submitted the other to win the match." The crowd screams as we see shades of HBK Vs BretHartin its own fashion.
Match starts again both men roaring at each other. 11 minutes in and both men are still going at it, although both exhausted this 11 minutes has been fast paced. Suddenly jericho gets caught up in the tombstone and the crowd are whaling. Taker pulls of the tombstone but doesn't go for the pin. Knowing jericho has lasted this long taker decides to stand over his bloodied body. Taker licks his lips and rolls his pupils into the back of his head. His pupils come forward and with a large grunt from taker he lifts jericho up by the hair. Taker then positions jericho inbetween his legs ;], ready for the last ride. His arm raises into the air once more and the crowd go wild, still mixed. Jericho still with his head positioned inbetween takers legs for the last ride, blood dripping from his head and onto the floor. Taker reaches down about to begin the manouver, however in the time it took taker to move the crowd with momentum jericho manages to awake (This making sense.) As taker reaches down for jericho, jericho quickly moves his arms around the back of takers legs, clutching at takers legs with a tight grasp and is able to pull forward on the legs of taker, this making taker fall to the ground on his back. As taker falls to the ground on his back with in seconds jericho has turned taker over into the walls once more. Crowd goes nuts and jericho has the walls in but not confidently. Taker struggles to get to the ropes. Jericho has the walls tight in, jerichos hair covering his eyes, his face now completley red with beads of sweat dripping from both men. Ref on the floor ready to search for takers tap. Almost 40 seconds into the submission jericho shouting come on! Taker still struggling. It looks as if taker is about to tap with his hand in the air, taker brings his hand down but not to tap and trys with all his might to reach the ropes. Inches away from the ropes taker is about to break out, Jericho with all that is left in him pulls taker away from the ropes and holds in the submission. take fails to break out. 1 minutes in jericho has the momentum but can barley hold on. Take raises his hand the crowd gasping. Taker taps out.
The crowd scream, all with sounds of cheer. The arena lights up with the crowds emotions. Jericho slumps over onto his head and almost passes out. Sweat still dripping from both, taker spread on the floor next to jericho. It's almost a minute before jericho reaches his feet. The crowd have never made such a noise and jerichos face is stunned. Taker manages to slump up but only with his hands and knees as if on all fours. Jericho approaches taker with an arm out and helps taker stand. (This signaling the end of an era for a man who has had his days.) Both men look at each other for a second as both back away when taker is lifted to his feet by jericho. They stare at each other for 10 seconds. No hugs, or no hand shakes. Just a simple nod by taker and a smile.
All of a sudden the arena darkens and nothing but the crowds flourecent tubes can be seen. Another 10 seconds pass and the lights come back on, taker is nowhere to be seen. It sparks the end of a legend the end of a record breaking streak and the final time we will ever see taker in the ring. It ends with jericho left standing in the ring alone with the crowd chanting "Y2J!"
