Reports say that Vince McMahon is extremely happy with the way Daniel Bryan has been performing as World Heavyweight Champion and he could possibly hold onto the championship throughout the majority of the year, reminiscent of JBL's surprising 9 month reign.

It seems to be in line with all the other rumours which is nice and I'll mark out like Matt Striker if he wins at Mania but I'll remain a sceptic.

That would be so F***ING AWESOME. Like a JBL that could actually wrestle.

Bryan actually has a LOT more heat than you would think. I was on Twitter the other day (I'm sorry) and looking through SmackDown Tweets, and people were absolutely raging at how he spit in someone's face.

Now it's online so Sheamus will definitely win now.
Bryan is one of the few who could make a long title reign entertaining in today's WWE. I can't see Sheamus losing unless it's via roll up and Bryan gets a post match destruction.

Edit. I don't see this anywhere on lordsofpain.net. I googled it and this was the first result. Where did you get this from?

As with anything "reported" by the internet, I'll believe it when I see it... or more accurately when you guys see it. Personally, I don't think I've seen any evidence to support this story. I haven't seen evidence to make me believe that D-Bry will even get a good showing in against Sheamus. All the evidence I've seen points to Sheamus being WWE's next golden boy and D-Bry being just another in the increasing line of MITB failures. Hopefully, I'm wrong and WWE is setting me up perfectly for D-Bry to break out at Mania, but I haven't seen a whole lot in my many years of watching WWE that supports that.

Sheamus as WWE's next golden boy seems weird. Does anybody really even care about him?

I do not trust the source, and even if it were true, what does it matter?

As a heel, I really like him. As a face, not so much.

I forgot to put it in italics, and to mention that "nothing is confirmed at this point." That way, I can never be wrong.

The Rumble took a hit last year as Del Rio fizzled out pretty badly last year, but its still the biggest win you can get in WWE. Besides Sheamus, I can think of three guys who have won both KOTR and the Royal Rumble. Brock Lesnar, Triple H, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. He had the second fastest rise to the WWE Title (thanks SVR for that little trivia nugget) behind Lesnar. He has (or had, at least) the Triple H seal of approval. I don't see it, I don't get it, but WWE has put Sheamus on a pedestal and it would be exceedingly surprising (pleasantly) to see a guy breathing that rarified air go to lose to lil' Daniel Bryan at the biggest show of the year.

Not that this has anything to do with anything, but Edge also won KotR and Royal Rumble.

I have to agree with everyone else, I find it very hard to believe that Bryan will make it past Sheamus (the guy WWE has tried like hell to push down our throats for the past 2 years) at mania.

Plans mean nothing. Vince has been lnown to change match finishes through the referee in the middle of the match.

Exactly. Even Chris Jericho winning the Royal Rumble was changed on really short notice and that's a pretty big decision.

Punk's a guaranteed win. Cena's a guaranteed win. Taker's a guaranteed win.

Wrong. If Punk retains, Bryan won't. Last year both titles didn't change. They won't do that again.

Good point. A title needs to change but I think a heel needs to go over in one of the big matches.

[QUOTE="Mu5uk0"] Cena's a guaranteed win.

I don't know if this is the case. When the match was first announced and it was sort of assumed that Rocky would wrestle this match and then bail for another 7 years, yeah, Cena was a winner 4sho, but it sort of looks like Rocky may wrestle sporadically throughout the year, which leads me to believe they may have him win now to make him still look like the man, and then he'll lose to Cena later before he leaves for a major break.

As they book it now, I can't see that happening. If they were going to put the strap on Jericho, I think they would have put it on him in the chamber. Jericho winning at WM seems odd to me. Punk has yet to win a singles match at WM. I think WWE wants him to go over Jericho and establish himself, but I guess an argument could be made to have Y2J win.

I think the only possible heel victories will be Cody over Show and Team Excitement over Team Long.

I think it is safe to say that Punk will win, considering Punk is on a losing streak and Jericho is on a winning one. Whatever the case, I believe Jericho winning the championship one more time before he leaves would be a nice sentiment. Considering he has only won the WWE championship once and has always been underrated by the WWE.
