As much as I'd love to carry on being the leader of WWEv, our union, it's come to the point where I have to do what's best for us in order for the union to overcome this dull atmosphere. The action is for me to pass the torch, to resign as position of such an exhilarating union in order for it to follow through.

Over the past few months, we have hit some rocky roads, and we pulled through alright, but with a significant decrease in activity. My status of activity and enthusiasm hasn't helped the union much either but in all honesty, school has took top priority since the final year started. All I can do is apologise sincerely, for I deeply feel I contributed to the union's latest downfall. The only way to sort this mess out in my opinion is to start fresh, with someone taking over, giving new light and prosper for the future. I feel I have done my bit over the past two years but it seriously feels like it's time to pass the torch, as cliched as that sounds.

Now, I don't want you all to think I'm leaving the union. No, I'd just like to take control as an officer and just moderate the union instead of being the authorised admin. I've had such great discussions and moments being a part of this union and I sure hope there will be more to come in the future!

I have chosen the nominees, so to speak, on who I feel is capable of stepping up as leader of the World Wrestling Everything union, and it's up to the entire community to decide.

Please leave a comment besides your chosen nomination.

Thank you.

I'm stunned and utterly speechless as to what has just happened. A leader (to me) really just gets everything sorted out and under control. Officers usually are the ones who carry it out. I have dreamed to be leader of this union. I am really not going to vote until I see who really wants it.

Very sad to see you step down, Mena, but I can understand if you feel it's the best thing to do - just glad you won't be leaving the Union :) Since both Sephy and KeilberFan stepped down as officers already, I'm not really sure about voting for either of them as new leaders. I know KB stepped down as an officer due to lack of time... and I can't remember why Sephy stepped down, but the point stands. Anyhow, you've probably spoken to them about the matter, anyhow, so I guess I'm rambling pointlessly. It was a really tough call between The_Dude and Jackov for my vote - both contribute tons to this Union and either would probably make fantastic leaders. I went with The_Dude in the end as my choice though, 'cause I just think he'd fit the role best. Can't really explain it better than that - his style of dealing with threads and admin duties just appeals to my sense of what I'd look for in a leader. Both would be fine leaders, as I said, though.

It's not nearly as bad as I thought it was. For a second I thought you were leaving the union. I'm not sure what a new leader could do, but I'd definately back The Dude.

Sad to see you step down Mena, I have been here for about a year and I thought you've done a great job leading.

With that being said the 4 you selected as new choices was very hard to choose from. Being that I respect and like each of them very much. But I have come to the conclusion of voting for The_Dude14.

I'm really not sure what to say, I never thought I'd see the day you would be stepping down as leader. Since Sephy and KF both stepped down I guess it's a choice between The Dude and Jackov. If I had to chose between them I'd say The Dude would be the best choice, but it's still a big change for all of us.

everyone vote for The_Dude, Jackov doesn't do as much stuff as you guys think.

KBF and I don't care and we work to much to even be around.

somebody tell AlexN that he should be leader :P. then we can finally get out "GS Endorsed" emblem.

I think the_dude should be the leader as well, since he is a charter member of the Union and has stuck by your side since day 1

I hope Union Activity eventually picks up, but as long as the WWE keeps giving us the BS, that they are shoving down our throats, week after week then activity will be lower until the WWE becomes more interesting again and I have got to the point, where I do not miss watching Wrestling anymore, I missed it for about a month as I was trying to get away from it and from what I read on here in what few threads I read on here, things seem have only got worse, not that I think things would have changed that much over the last 4 months, since I last watched the WWE

Also to Mena, you should not have to say you are sorry for anything, none of what has happened is your fault, it is just the fault that interest in the WWE is way down right now and as long as things stay that way, then activity will be down though and it is going to be a challenge for whoever is the leader to have increased activity around here as long as the WWE stays the way it is right now and I think whoever becomes the leader should expect to see activity to remain like it is right now until the WWE gets better, but the way things are going in the WWE, I do not count on that happening for a long time

I know you have hinted before about stepping down and I think you just need to focus on other things and get away from Wrestling a little bit for a while, while putting most of your focus on your schoolwork

It is truly sad to see you go.  As a leader myself, I know how much work it can take, so I fully respect your decision.  You've done so much for this union, but sometimes you just need to move on, just for the sake of change.  And honestly, I think this is a good time for it.

Anyhow, I voted for The_Dude.  I think either of the 2 remaining candidates would be a good choice, but when I think WWEv, I think Dude before I think Jackov.

Well another thing Wally and you know me as well as you do your officers in the NFL Union and if I ever wanted a spot as an officer there, I feel like I would have a good chance to get it, but when I look at the NFL Union and it is a thriving Union that continues to grow, because interest in the NFL is very good and we always have good threads there and a good relaxed atmosphere and I think your officers in the NFL are more happy with the NFL, then what the Officers here in the WWEV Union are happy with the WWE at this point in time and I feel like that makes a huge difference as far as allowing you to be a leader and when you have officers who are active and are happy with the topic that the Union involves around, like I have noticed that you have not been that active around the NFL union recently, but you haven't had to be, because you have a great group of officers who pick up the slack, when you are not able to do much and that helps a lot

Mena at 1 point in time use to have a very dependable fleet of officers, but due to lack of interest in the WWE and other officers feeling the need to step down and do other things, it makes it very hard to be a leader of a Union, when interest in down and your officers are leaving and you have to do more, when you are not able to, I do not think Mena would have stepped down, if interest in the WWE was much higher and he had a dependable fleet of officers, because he was able to slack off, when he was too busy, because he use to have the officers here that could take care of things, when he was not able to do much

I am just glad that over at the NFL Union, that you Wally have that luxury at this point in time, because it use to be in this Union, but not anymore though

Mena I don't blame you at all man, good to know you'll still be around as an officer. As much as I would like to have voted for myself I know that will never happen and I've not been the best officer as of late anyway, so I voted for The_Dude in the end considering both kbf & sephy are no longer officers. Sam, you are a great officer as well my friend.

Well Mena, I wish you in all what you do, and hopefully your officier status is here for you. Good luck with all your coursework. Tough choice to say who should be the leader. If I really had to pick someone, I say The_Dude14 because he has done an excellent job updating us with lots of stuff. His knowledge of wrestling is keeping me around here. I think he is one of the good friends I got here at WWEv.

***Edit: I would pick Sam as well, but he got a full load on his hand taking on GamingRing as a MOD, and some other places. He has done a magnificant job updating us on the Homepage. So if Dude decline his decision as leader, then Sam is my next pick.

Well I've been with this union for about a year now with seldom posts, but if there's one thing I've seen its that The_Dude is one of the few people left on GS that I can say I have never had disrespect for. He has his funny moments, but they cannot be taken as offensive basically ever. If it came down to it, I'd have to vote for The_Dude to take over the union. If Sam is a mod at GamingRing and still has time to be a good officer, I have to admit I am a bit curious to how he would fair as the leader. But I must vote for The_Dude.

I am only participating in this poll because Mena has done a great job in keeping this union active and alive; I wouldn't want this union to come to a downfall from a new leader in charge. So I chose the The_Dude_14 to be appointed as a new leader not because he is the most favored in this poll but because he is more responsible and mature than the other choices.

While this doesn't come as a complete shock to me, as hbk91 has mentioned on a few occasions considering stepping down as leader for a while now, its still something I don't want to see.  If it were up to me, I'd say that hbk91 should remain the leader unless he plans on leaving GS altogether.  This Union was your idea and no one has put more into this union than you.  However, its not my decision and I'll respect it whatever it turns out to be.

I'd also like to say I truly appreciate all the kind words and support people have given me in this thread.

However, I don't think I'd be the right choice to be the new leader.  I honestly don't see anything changing for the better if I were to become leader.  I have not exactly been brimming with ideas for this place or in general enthusiasm towards wrestling as of late.  I haven't watched any WWE program since Lashley won the ECW Title and haven't been watching Raw or Smackdown for a lot longer than that.  Also, similar to hbk91, the forums have taken a backseat to other concerns.  While I had and have no intentions of leaving the Union, I really don't think I'd be the right choice as leader.  Again, though, thank you all for your support, I really do appreciate it.  And thank you, hbk91 for all you've done as leader, if you do choose to step down.

Yeah bro it's not like this place really needs leadership right now, wrestling's in a slump. Basically check in every once in a while. The current officers will probably take care of any problems.

With the recent comments by The_dude14 I would like to re-state my choice.

I never thought this union has taken a bad direction. Slowed down at times, yes, but not ever really been in trouble. It is the #1 union of Gamespot for a reason. I think you've been a great leader no matter how many times you post. I do think The_Dude is right, even though his is winning the poll if he isn't watching Wrestling programs a lot and even admits he doesn't think he would be right for the job I think it shouldn't happen. I think he would do a great job as leader as well as the other 3 choices so it's a win-win situation.

I may not post as much as I would like too but I still lurk and read everyday.

I agree with some posters above me and say try and stick around and just wait to things clear up. Let the officers to their job and just do what you can.

I honestly want WWEv to start afresh for 2007. We need a leader to bring energy back into the union's atmosphere and regroup what's left of our active community.

It's got to the point where I have realised that the union needs to be changed. Not changed entirely, no. It needs to be changed constantly, updated as often as it can. This is a wrestling site. Wrestling is 24/7, despite how 'terrible' some programming can be.

My struggle to progress our union is dominated by time which has trapped me throughout my studying. I did terrible in my exams back in June, and they were just end of year mocks. 2007 is the real deal for me, final exams, and I can't afford to waste more time.

If a democratic appeal won't solve this matter, I'm pleading the four of you I have chosen for one of you to step up and accept my position, please. I can't stay on and do the job I have been recently doing.

Well you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink and that is the basic feeling right now about somebody taking over your position and most importantly having the heart for the business

It does not matter who is brought in or if we get new members or not, because until Wrestling becomes watchable again, then this Union will remain in the current shape, that it is in

It just has got to the point that with few officers and loosing some of your best officers, you cannot be a pediastrian leader anymore here, because when I first came here back in March you had a very active group of officers, who were very dependable and did a lot and you did not have to do much as the leader then

This time last year we had some many active members and people who wanted to become mods. You saw all the mods at least once a day posting. We had the awards and people were happy with the union.

What happened? I believe some lost interest some became frustrated with other users and left and some look around but just see no reason to post. I believe after CM Punk debuted we lost something IMHO to look forward to. We always sapped up news about him. Then there was RVD with his WWE title push we kept hearing about. That also made the union excitable. A possible DX reunion. But this year had so many disappoints. TNA also kept us as it was new and fresh. Now it has become stale as it came to Spike TV. There was ROH which was so different but now it is hard to keep up with.

Then it was also the fact that the authority figures were all different and you could actually see then on the board instead them being in the shadows slowly moderating.
Before RAW topics could reach page 10 now we put all 3 together and barely reach 5. There's noone to discuss it with in the thread so you either just watch or post and get no responses.

That's just my 2 cents on what's happened. The repetiviness of Cena vs. Edge really killed the union IMHO.

Honestly, I think the day when this union began declining was theday all those guys left. Darren was one of the most enjoyable guys to listen to, and watching him and Gary interact (towels) was pure gold. Also, that whole Fantasy thing Gary set up went to hell, which brought in several guys. After that a lot of people just stopped caring. Honestly, I never thought I'd be one of the guys sticking around while so many WWEv originals left. (Some of you guys, like Mena, Gary, and Zach, should know what I'm talking about.) A lot of guys are blaming the really crappy product, which could be true, because know there's nothing cool going on, like the teasing of Punk coming up, DX possibly returning (Flop of the year, perhaps second only to ECW) and ECW's revival. Seriously, at this point, Idon't think it would matter who the leader is. So far it's been a tag that no one really pays attention to. Mena has always been the leader, but he's always had his mods be pretty much equal with him. Basically, what I'm trying to say is that we used to be the best on Gamespot, but, despite having the highest level, we are definatly seeing the lowest point in this unions history. I can only hope that we can somehow rebuild, because this is pretty much the only way I talk to people. That's why I started my own nearly 2 years back. Well, I just wanted to say that.

I guess I will remain as leader of WWEv, for now.

Believe me when I say I will try and do my best to revive the union from this great sleep. Mark's analogy put it best and it was rude for me to put pressure on the four of you I chose, especially on Christmas day. I'm sorry for that. I can't make any promises for the future but I'll do the best I can.

That's all that this union can hope for Mena. Although you stepping down wouldn't ruin the union, I honestly don't think that would happen, no one else can offer any more then you can at the moment.

I know I wasn't one of the four main choices, and I'm cool with that, but I still feel that I should make this statement. The only thing I have to offer to the union that you don't is the time. I CAN'T do banners nor could I mess with HTML without A LOT of practice.

Because people have realized there are better things to do in life then the internet.
