Or

Since Wrestlemania 19, the first Wrestlemania in the brand extension era with 2 World Champions, WWE has been forced to choose which title match will headline the card.  In previous years, the Rumble Winner seems to end up in that featured spot on the card.  However, with Triple H vs John Cena looking like the more traditional Wrestlemania Title match and featuring the two guys the company just can't get enough of, and the rather unstable nature of the Smackdown main event, it looks very up in the air as to which match will be the last match at Wrestlemania 22 and close out the card.

So, I pose the question to you, which match should be the main event of Wrestlemania 22: John Cena vs Triple H for the WWE Title or Kurt Angle vs Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton for the World Title?

It should be Rey/Angle/Orton, because they are much more likely to put on a great match.  And you always want to leave the audience with the best part of the show.  Unfortunately, the WWE thinks Cena is the best part.

Which match should be the Main Even of Wrestlemania 22?

Easy... no questions asked... Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle... Rey Mysterio won the 2005 Royal Rumble and tradion say's that the winner of the Royal Rumble goes onto the main even match of Wrestlemania, to face the champion. Yes.. I know tradionally that the main event in single's match, however... we have seen two previous main events at Wrestlemania (XVI, XX) where the championship match was not single's match.... So, what is big deal about having third match in this vain?

Besides, Raw has already had the main event at Wrestlemania in the past two... I think its SmackDown's turn to main event the show.

However...

Which match will be the Main Event of Wrestlemania 22?

I tend to lend towards Triple H vs. John Cena, in this regard... The match has clearly been recieving more build and attention from WWE, as well as having John Cean... the company's favorite "golden boy" and the man who their trying to deseperately push as being the next Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and Rock.

WWE has been know to break tradion before... Anyone remember Wrestlemania VIII... and more imporantly... what was the main event? Despite the fact Flair-Savage was the WWF championship match... they had Hogan-Sid as the main event, match that did not have any world champion title to speak of... WWE is clearly not above breaking tradion.

And more importanly, why did they break tradion? Simple, because of Hulk Hogan... see the point and connection... if they are willing do that for Hulk Hogan, what is the difference doing it for John Cena? The same guy they are trying to build as the next Hulk Hogan...

Also, unlike Hogan at Wrestlemania VIII, Cena has WWE champion... all the more reason to make Triple H vs. John Cena main event at Wrestlemania XXII... at least, by my guess, according to WWE logic, anyhow.

Triple Threat all the way, but if I can make a WM main event it would be Angle vs Benoit vs Eddie vs Rey for the title.

I believe this is gonna be the 3rd year in a row that a World Heavyweight Championship will main event WrestleMania.

I choose Mysterio vs. Orton vs. Angle.  It has so many backstories to it.  Like Rey redeeming himself to the late Eddie Guerrero, Orton wanting to win the title (at all costs) at the biggest stage of 'em (at the pinnacle of his career), and Angle proving that he is indeed the "Wrestling Machine" and will take on anyone who stands in his path.  This match will get physical, and bodies will start flyin' everywhere in a hurry.

For Cena vs. HHH, it's pretty much Cena trying to prove to HHH that he can in fact wrestle the best of 'em.  I see this match more like a test for Cena, and I believe HHH sees it that way too.  Not a very huge backstory to this match though.

If I was in charge it would be a very easy decision to make, Orton v. Mysterio v. Angle.

Many reasons:

  • The triple threat match is simply a bigger match.
  • There is, in my opinion, more at stake for each and every superstar involved.
  • Also, considering those involved, they all are great wrestlers.
  • And you can't forget that every wrestler can actually wrestle.
  • The other match has two people that I could care less about.  HHH is a dumb ass & Cena just can't wrestle.

However, I believe that HHH v. Cena will be the main event match.  HHH is the son-in-law of the big man, and of course he feels he deserves top billing no matter what the circumstances.

Despite the fact that the WWE belt has about 10 times the history.  I think it should be the triple threat because Orton, Mysterio and Angle are three solid wrestlers while Triple H and Cena arn't as solid.

The Triple threat. It has more drama and potential to be a true WM calibur Main Event than Cena/HHH could ever have, at this juncture. Cena/HHH has no hype, heat, absolutely nothing. The IWC doesn't want to see it, the marks don't want to see it, no one wants to see it.

The Triple Threat easily. The fact that the match will be about 10 times better should be the reason. I have a feeling Cenas match will be dull like last year, against JBL. I really dont want to see WM end with a single FU.

The show should end with a bang, and I can see that bang either be Angle celebrating with red, white, and blue confetti falling or Rey crying and pointing up above.  If Rey is set to win, no doubt will that be the last match.  I guess they could also go with Orton winning in the second to the last match, and then put Cena-HHH as the last match with Cena retaining as that would seemingly please the crowd at the end.  I'm going to stick with the first theory though.  I also think HHH might win.

Regardles of who wins at WM, we all know HHH will take Cena's belt if not at WM at some point, Cena's just had it too long and there's no one else for Cena to feud with at this point, plus HHH hasn't seen gold for a long while and that's just unusual.

Rey vs Angle vs Orton would be the match. It has more backstory than HHH vs Cena. HHH vs Cena kind of came out of no where. Rey, Angle and Orton can also wrestle. HHH can wrestle but Cena will ruin the match. But I think Vince will make Cena vs HHH the better match and go as the Main Event.

Cena VS HHH should be the main event. Its the build up, and tradition of wrestlemania.

John Cena - The WWE Champion, for almost the last 12 months.
Triple  H   -  A 10 Time Champ. The biggest superstar for the WWE.

So this match is the obvious choice. Even though The triple threat could be an interesting match, it will be harder to pull off, and the superstars in the match haven't got the same head of steam going into the match as HHH/Cena.

Plus, at the end, Mister Money in the Bank will win the main event Champion's title off him straight away (1 hour wait instead of 9 months), and leave the champ anyway.

I've thought about that happening before, but I don't think the WWE would do that.

The Triple Threat match should be last, it has more backstory to it and it should be overall the better match, maybe even MOTN if it's done right.

I think it should be whoever wins the rumble and is particpating in that match, in this case, the Orton/Rey/Angle match. It's not a MAIN event shot if it isn't in the main event. It ruins Wrestlemania as much as it ruins the point of the Royal Rumble.

I am one to keep traditions strictly traditions and following my belief, I definitely think that Mysterio vs. Orton vs. Angle should indeed end up being the main-event of this year's WrestleMania.

The build up is looking much more dramatic than how I assumed it would be when the match was announced. We have Mysterio, as the huge babyface entering the match up, Orton as the main heel worker, and Angle as the neutral (but face) "wrestling machine". All three guys have history with one another and have all pulled off some great matches individually. On the whole, this match is really looking like a possible MOTY candidate for the WWE and that is saying something above Raw's main-event of Hunter vs. Cena.

On the note, well Hunter/Cena is looking terrible. The match will suck. Who's the heel, who's the face? If this ends up as the main-event, and both guys get boo'ed into and out of the arena, well what a way to end the show. I don't know what Hunter was thinking to put the strap back on Cena (burying Edge in the process) just to save his WM insight. It looks like HHH is having a hard time getting Cena over as a face. Oh and they blamed Angle...

Anyhow, by the looks of things, HHH/Cena will probably main-event WM22. Why? Well explain this past week's contract signing on Raw.

Whenever I first read this question I was a little torn on which one I thought deserved to be the main event, but I think I've sorted it all out.

On the one hand you have the match with the Royal Rumble winner, who typically is the person who main events WrestleMania.  Now I would've easily said this match was the main event if Mysterio hadn't went through that stupid story with Orton in which he "lost" his shot, but then amazingly got it right back.  If they really wanted Orton and Rey to be in the main event, then they should've just had them both be eliminated at the same time, but not restart the match like they did last year.  Now I think that this is going to be the best of the two matches, because based on what I've seen the past couple of weeks Orton and Angle have really good in-ring chemistry.... and Rey Mysterio has that X Factor mystique that he could just come out of nowhere and win the damn thing.

Then on the other side of the spectrum, you have Triple H and John Cena.  Now it seems at this point that the WWE is content on keeping the belt on John Cena and doing anything in their power to make him look like a credible champion.  Triple H usually manages to pull out a decent match at WrestleMania, but he's no Kurt Angle.  I think that the match is probably gonna be better than a lot of people are thinking it's gonna be, but in no way is it going to be the best match of the two.

The better match deserves to be the main event match, and that match is the Triple Threat for the World Heavyweight Championship.

If Orton or Angle win the match, it should not be the main event, but If Rey wins it, then it HAS to be the main event. Thats my short 2 cents on that.
