RANDY ORTON INJURED DURING ECW ON SCI FI
by Mike Johnson @ 11:45:00 PM on 6/20/2006

Randy Orton was injured during the main event of ECW on Sci Fi, although the severity is not yet known.

Orton injured his right arm while working on Kurt Angle's knee. Orton put his leg between his own and drove down to the mat, immediately grabbing his right wrist. When Orton stood up, his arm was lame. Orton spoke to Edge, who he then tagged in with his left arm. When Orton stood at the ring cormer and on the floor, his arm was badly hanging. Orton tagged in again with his left hand and was obviously favoring the right arm. He tagged out again. Van Dam hit the pescado on Orton, then hit him in the back with a chair. They then went to the finish of the match, with RVD pinning Orton.

When the cameras weren't on Orton, it was apparent in the building that Lita was trying to help him. After ECW went off the air, Orton was walked to the back by WWE's medical staff. Orton was then immediately taken via ambulance to a local hospital for examination.

PWInsider.com hopes to have further information as it develops. Orton is scheduled to wrestle Kurt Angle this Sunday at the Vengeance PPV.

I don't know why I didn't notice it.  The_Dude was saying something about it in the ECW thread and I had no idea what he was talking about.

I hope Orton's okay. Well, not really.  I couldn't care less for Orton.  But if he is hurt, it kinda messes with WWE's plans.

Hope Orton turns out to be alright. Only because RAW needs him once this ECW vs. RAW thing ends, if it does.

I didn't even think about that.  I guess we can add his name to the victim list.

What is the deal with Randy Orton and shoulder/arm injures?

Anyhow, props to Randy Orton for maintaining, and finishing the match...certainly earned some of my respect (for whatever that is worth).

Also, I hope the injury is not serious, and if it is, I hope he is able to have speedy recovery.

I knew he was hurt when he grabbed his arm after working on Angle's leg. It didn't even look like anything happened.

We have gotten word that it appears Randy Orton's shoulder will be OK. He injured himself doing a move on Kurt Angle at last night's ECW on Sci Fi show and it was obvious immediately that he was in serious pain. When he got to the back after the match, his shoulder was popped back into place and he was then taken to the hospital for tests. At this point, we are under the impression that they were just preventative and he should be able to work at Sunday's Vengeance PPV

wonder if it will effect the match overall, from being a longer grinded out match to being shorten up.

In a correction from an earlier story, Randy Orton did not go to the hospital last night. His shoulder was attended to, iced down and checked out backstage and he was deemed to be OK. He is good to go for Sunday's PPV. In fact, he is headed to the UK right now to do promotion for the show.

It will be interesting to see whether or not, they rest him for a little while after Vengeance, depending on how well his shoulder holds up.

I do think if they decide to rest him, it will be for the purpose of saving him for Summerslam at the end of August

I am glad it wasn't anything too serious.

Now if he was on SmackDown, it could have been a different story...

Bret Hart's career was ended on a stiff kick.  **** happens and sometimes it doesn't even look that bad, it's possible that his weight shifted who knows.

Orton's inclined to shoulder injuries, he's had hyper-tension or something in his shoulder since birth. I wouldn't look into should injuries as too much of a thing considering he knows how to pop it back in place, yet he has had two surgeries on it.
