Ring of Honor dropped Jay Lethal from all future bookings after writing him out last weekend at the Fourth Anniversary event in Edison, New Jersey. Lethal had lost clean to Samoa Joe at the show.

DETAILS ON JAY LETHAL'S DEPARTURE FROM RING OF HONOR
by Mike Johnson @ 1:40:00 PM on 3/2/2006
As noted earlier today, Ring of Honor dropped Jay Lethal from all future booking following their Fourth Anniversary show in Edison, New Jersey.
From speaking to several within the company, the decision to drop Lethal (which came from booker Gabe Sapolsky) was made because with Lethal signed to TNA, he was expendable as an undercard talent when the promotion could instead devote time to building someone who wouldn't be signed elsewhere.
I have also heard that part of the decision to drop Lethal was stemming from underlying heat on Lethal as he was the only one of the TNA talents that skipped ROH's Long Island event as TNA's request a few weeks back that did not contact Ring of Honor after the fact to apologize for the situation, as the talent were stuck between a rock and a hard place. Since other talents had communicated with ROH after the fact, there isn't any issue with them over how that situation went down.
Still, there is always a chance Lethal will be used down the line by the company (if he wanted to work for ROH again), but "for now" ROH decided they were done with him.
Lethal, a prodigy originally found and trained by Jersey All Pro Wrestling, had been working for ROH shortly after it formed in 2002. He originally debuted under the ring name Hydro as part of the Special K faction. Lethal was broken off from Special K and linked with then-ROH champion Samoa Joe as Joe's protege and won the ROH Pure championship. Joe and Lethal vs. Homicide and Low Ki main evented ROH's first Manhattan, New York City event. Lethal had turned on Samoa Joe several months back, leading to his final showdown with Joe at the Fourth Anniversary event. Lethal is signed to a TNA deal and appears primed for a push based on recent appearances.
