Devin Cutting of ProwrestlingEvents.tk is reporting that former WWE star Shad Gaspard was apparently arrested for jaywalking, as noted by his wife on her Twitter page. He was arrested for "crossing the street," noted Gaspard's wife on Twitter. She also claimed that video footage of him being tackled by police will be posted at some point on TMZ.

He had to be doing something more than just jaywalking right?

I've heard of people being fined but I've never heard of anyone arrested for just Jaywalking.

[UPDATE]

The following is a new article from TMZ.com:

Wrestler Claims Racial Profiling After Jaywalking Arrest

3/6/2011 10:37 AM PST by TMZ Staff

Former WWE tag team champion Shad Gaspard was arrested yesterday in Columbus, OH after what his wife claims was a jaywalking incident that turned into a case of racial profiling.

Shad's wife Siliana tells TMZ her husband did not resist when a cop tried to bust him for jaywalking as he made his way to the Arnold Fitness EXPO. She says Shad got into a kneeling position to show he was not resisting ... but the cops shoved his face into the dirt anyway.

Siliana tells us Shad told her he felt like he was "being profiled" and "treated like a n****r."

Former UFC champ Josh Barnett, who was with Gaspard at the time, seemed to back up Shad's version of events on his Twitter page, posting last night, "Shad Gaspard arrested because a Columbus officer abuses his authority. False jaywalking charge + attitude turns to handcuffs and tackling."

According to law enforcement, Gaspard -- who as part of the tag team Cryme Tyme once held the tag team title -- was arrested for resisting arrest and obstructing official business.

Calls to the Columbus PD were not returned.

Yeah. At times they were the only team in WWE, and yet they NEVER won the tag titles. :P

True, but really, who can blame them? Those belts means so damn little, and when it seems as if everyone and their mom is a former tag-team champion, everything begins to blur.

Hell, John Cena is a former 4-time tag-team champion.

I dunno, whatever. I hate playing the race card these days. WWE didn't push Shelton because he was black and such. No, WWE didn't push Shelton because he was horrible on the mic, terrible as a heel, and stopped even appearing to try by mid-2006.

What is odd is that Cryme Tyme was moderately over at different periods and didn't get the belts.

On the other hand, the premise of their gimmick was kinda overtly racist.

But it is what it is. If Bret didn't come back, the Hart Dynasty wouldn't have won **** and they're actually good.

But seriously, who really gives a ****? The tag titles are a joke and Cryme Tyme was pretty terrible.

Stupid ass cops! This is cops abusing their power. This is why some people hate cops (talking about the dirty one, of course).

You got a number of witnesses who said he did nothing wrong. Shad didn't look to really resist, and try telling them he did nothing wrong.

That should go to court. I completely understand a fee for jaywalking but detainment and arrest is absolutely ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure Cryme Tyme didn't win the titles because they got fired. They were fired the first time during the height of their popularity and were probably on their way to a win. And, once they returned, they never really got back that crowd again and WWE had better tag teams, so they were easily forgotten.

Also, whatever. Racial profiling? Who cares. Just sue the cops and get it over with, no reason to complain over Twitter and to TMZ. Jeez.
