Mike Johnson is live at tonight's Raw/Smackdown Supershow and will be sending in reports throughout the evening.

Smackdown Spoilers:

*The open the show announcing WWE World champ King Booker vs. Undertaker and Batista vs. Ken Kennedy for later on.

*William Regal beat WWE United States champ Finlay by DQ when Finlay got the shillelagh from Regal and nailed him.  Lashley hit the ring and Finlay nailed him too.  Regal and Finlay teased attacking Lashley but Finlay shoved Regal into Lashley and walked out.  Lashley hit the Dominator on Regal.

*Elijah Burke (with Sylvester Turkay) defeated Scott Wright via submission, hitting the Stroke followed by a choke.  Turkay beat on Wright after the match and cinched on the finisher he beat Matt Hardy with.

*Kristal Marshall pinned Ashley Massaro after rolling her up and hooking the tights.

*Tatanka pinned Sylvan with a sideslam.

*Batista pinned Ken Kennedy after the Batista Bomb.

*Michael Cole interviewed Batista at ringside congratulating him on his win.  Batista said to congratulate him when he wins back his World title.

*Vito defeated The Brooklyn Brawler via submission with the dress over the face hammerlock.

*In his office, Teddy Long was talking to the debuting Montel Vontavious Porter (from Deep South Wrestling) who told him he needed to be signed if Long wanted the "MVP" (his initials) for 2006.  Long said he was excited to sign him.  Montel told Long to talk to his agent on the cell phone and walked out.   Long was shocked at the financial demands mentioned over the phone and said to the agent that they needed to get  together soon.  The MVP character seemed to be based on Cuba Gooding Jr. in Jerry Maguire.

*KC James and Aaron The Idol Stevens debuted, managed by Michelle McCool, defeating Funaki and Scotty 2 Hotty.  Fans began chanting "We want Raw" during the match, which no doubt will be edited off.

*Backstage. Sharmell got King Booker ready for the match with the Undertaker.

*In the building, they aired a music video on the WWE visiting troops overseas.

*Chavo Guerrero came to the ring and said everyone wants to know why he turned on Rey Mysterio.  He claimed that Rey stole the Guerrero family name and their blood.  Chavo said he grew up with Eddie Guerrero and they were like brothers together.  Chavo said that Smackdown Magazine did an article on Latinos in wrestling and it was Rey on the cover in a Lowrider Los Guerreros used to come to the ring in with Eddie instead of Chavo.  He said Rey wasn't a Guerrero and stole Chavo's spotlight.  Chavo said Rey did everything to tie himself to Eddie to steal the spotlight, whether it was wrestling him or teaming with Eddie.  He said when Eddie died, everyone felt horrible and Chavo retired.  He said Rey didn't do the same and instead used Eddie's name to help himself.  Chavo said that every 5 minutes, Rey was mentioning Eddie's name and dedicating all the matches to him.  Chavo said when Rey won the World title, he still couldn't stand on his own.  Chavo said Rey had to use another Guerrero, him, to save his title but keep the glory.  He claimed Rey used Eddie's name until Chavo couldn't take it anymore at the Great American Bash and attacked him.  Chavo claimed that Rey stole the memory of Eddie from the fans and his family and is a leech living off the Guerrero name.

Mysterio hit the ring and they brawled in the ring and around ringside.  He slammed Chavo into the ring steps.  Eddie Guerrero's wife Vickie hopped the railing to separate them.  The crowd chanted Eddie's name.  Chavo backed up the aisle and went backstage   Vickie walked off without saying a word but glanced at Mysterio as she left.

*They replayed the clip of Batista wanting to go after the World title.

*Undertaker beat WWE World champ King Booker via DQ.  Taker chokeslammed Booker.  Khali hit the ring and hit him with the over the head chop. Taker sat up and clotheslined Khali over the top to the floor.  Taker challenged Khali to a Last Man Standing match at Summerslam.  Smackdown goes off the air with Taker doing his pose under the purple light and Khali glaring at him from the entrance.

So, 75% of the roster is out with "enzymes" and WWE still can't find a way to involve London and/or Kendrick on the show.

I'm not working that day.  I may watch, I'm not working, Finlay/Regal ought to be good... again and Booker/Taker kinda interests me... sort of... a little... comparitively speaking.  Then again, maybe not.

Well, so much for that Kennedy/Batista feud. Good to see Taker on SD as well. Despite the shortcomings, it looks better than this week's Raw to me.

Well if nothing turns up in my schedule then I will be watching SD like I always do. The show does not look interesting at all, but who knows what it will look like on TV considering reading the results and seeing it are different.

Kotenks
For the same reason he, Kane, and Batista all deserve ECW title shots. Anyway, the show looks ok. I'm interested in seeing all those people debut - I'm hoping I'll find a gem among them. I do agree with Dude, however, in that London and Kendrick need to be given some time. All those people are out and they are the tag team champs, yet they don't even make an appearance. Now that Kennedy is out of a rivalry with Batista I wonder who he will feud with. I vote for a Kennedy/Lashley feud, which I've been hoping for since both of them debuted!

Edit: It took TheGM's post to remind me about Helms, that's how little they've used him! I like that they are debuting people, but give the freakin' Cruiserweight Champ some air time! Noble vs. Helms sounds like a sweet idea!

It's quite pathetic too. At this rate, especially with Velocity gone, I am starting to worry about the future of the tag team division as well as the cruiserweight division for that matter too.

As for what actually made the show, more rematches from last week and also from the GAB, but nevertheless, some interesting factors worth checking out. I am particularly looking forward to seeing the US title mix, Chavo's promo, and of course, Booker vs. Taker.

That sounds like a great promo. In reality, he's saying all of the things that we have been saying for  months. I support him. I really hope they don't expect the crowd to NOT turn on Mysterio.

Dude...I remember A while ago you said Chavo would turn on Rey because of "A Guerrero whos first name isn't Chavo"...or something like that...I guess you were right (but then again, who couldn't predict that).

Seems like a good edition of Smackdown. But then again, I hardly seem to watch Smackdown any more. My gamble on picking Kristal for Fantasy paid off, hopefully I can get into the to 100 by the end of the week.

There is some question as to whether the Hulk Hogan riding to the building in a Lincoln Town Car was the real Hogan or an imposter.

Bob Holly b Simon Dean in a dark match. Holly looked in good shape and got a big pop for his return

William Regal b Fit Finlay via DQ for using the shilleleigh in a U.S. title match. Nobody cared about either guy, but the mini was over. Bobby Lashley did a run-in. Finlay threw Regal into Lashley and left. Lashley destroyed Regal

Elijah Burke b Scott Wright. This time Sylveter Terkay was in Burke's corner. Bure won with an armbar

Kristal Marshall b Ashley Massaro. Nobody cared

Tatanka (already off suspension) b Sylvan. Guess there's a story here.

Batista b Ken Kennedy clean with the Batista bomb. Kennedy got a lot of cheers. Batista only got some boos. It may be different on Raw, but every mention of Cena has been received by huge boos.

Vito b Brooklyn Brawler. Nobody cared. Usual Vito finish.

K.C. James & Idol Stevens (managed by Michelle McCool) b Funaki & Scotty 2 Hotty. People were unmerciful to this match. They didn't know James & Stevens and wouldn't give them a chance. Lots of "End this match" chants

Chavo Guerrero did a long interview. He had heat early, but he lost the crowd and lots of "boring" chants before Mysterio came out. He basically said Mysterio was trying to get over based on the Guerrero name. Vickie Guerrero was there to break up the fight.

Undertaker b King Booker via DQ when Great Khali interfered. They announced Taker vs. Khali to a last man standing match at SummerSlam.

oh man, i was there last night, and Smackdown was terrible (i thought they would've gone all out since this was a Supershow) there we chants like "Cancel Smackdown" and "We want Raw", they really could have done better, for those who plan on watching Smackdown this friday, my friends have a "Chavo Sucks" and "Dance Batista Dance" sign, look for them

That would hurt Rey and us more than it would hurt the WWE, but whatever.... :|

It's amazing, really. Just as Rey had finally escaped the stigma of all that Eddie crap, what do they do? Rey won't survive this time.

I was in person for this, and the Chavo promo wasn't that great. It was funny, the crowd started chanting "Thank You Chavo" right before he was about to speak so I guess they'll have to edit that out.:P Then when Mysterio came down to attack him he got booed.

Batista vs. Kennedy was a good match and the main event was decent, I liked it cause it's not often I get to see Undertaker in person.
