Anyone else weirded out by the induction ceremony? The Eddie portion was beautiful, couldn't have possibly been done better. I almost cried when Vickie kept trying to compose herself while receiving the induction for Eddie. Benoit, Chavo, and Rey's speeches were very classy.

Now, onto the rest of the show..... HOF + TV = No. That's all i'm going to say. Everything felt wayyyy too rushed compared to the past two ceremonies. I think that could attributed to the commercials and what not, though. Lillian Garcia announcing who will be inducted before each and every commercial break kind of cheapens the honor of the ceremony, IMO. Makes it seem like it's just one of those second-rate award shows on MTV. It didn't have that genuine element that the other two had in spades.

Okerlund was alright. His "final request" at the end of his speech actually made me laugh out loud. I didn't like the ridiculous amount of credit Hogan was given during that entire portion, but it didn't surprise me.

Now, onto the worst part of the ceremony: Bret Hart's induction. First, you had Austin, who looked and sounded like he would've rather been anywhere else at that moment, come out and deliver one of the most graceless "speeches" i've ever seen, and then Bret's acceptance speech....... It didn't have a whole lot of substance to begin with, and the reference to Montreal was unneccessary. "what they took away from me" Give me a break. No one cared. It got no reaction. Just awkward silence. And then he goes into some hypocritical BS about respect, which i think we all know goes without saying. It's sad that even on the night of his big induction, Bret still couldn't wear his heart (no pun intended) on his sleeve completely. He couldn't just lose himself in the atmosphere and focus entirely on the positive. Between that and his cute little attempt powerplay earlier this week, i've lost a good deal of respect for Bret.

I read somewhere (I don't have the link now) that a lot of Bret's speech was edited out because the USA network was going over the allotted time for the HOF ceremony.

Yeah the tV part wasn't that great but Sherri's was the best one, I still think that she was wasted.

Yeah, that had occured to me. His speech seemed very choppy and disjointed most of the time. Hopefully we'll get an uncut DVD release.

Yeah, the ceremony was weird but it certainly did have its moments varying from the sound of "Triple H" chants over the hatred of Cena (man, a double turn at 'Mania tonight, mark my words) to the likes of the deeply emotional induction of the late Eddie Guerrero.

In regards to the what went down with Bret and his induction last night, his speech seemed rather fake. I mean how can he assure that he's okay and all good now yet decides to mention what Montreal took out of him along with respect at the spur of the moment? Yesterday was a time for him to reflect on the positive moments of his career and just bringing up that reference referring back to '97 made things a lot awkward for the audience on the whole, and really made me look at his induction from an appalling standpoint.

Yeah he gave a speech that was said to last between 30 and 45 minutes but it was edited out to right about 7 minutes.

A lot of insiders are stating that the WrestleMania 22 DVD will bundle the entire HOF 2006 ceremony with it. Neat transaction worth checking out really. I'll probably end up buying it.

Yeah Mena I have been saying that a double turn will happen for awhile now. Also the Guerrero stuff made me tear up again.

i think the fans were very rude during eddie's induction, am i the only one who thinks this?

stone cold took a very low blow at hogan, because if hogan did anything he would look like an ass...so he sat there being composed and such, and got humiliated for no reason...

cena got owned

and no speech really, stood out in my mind. they were all very bland. bret's, hogan's, everyones' EXCEPT chavo's, chris's, and rey's...they had the best speeches of the night, in my opinion.

Stone Cold probably was at the first suit and tie thing he's ever been to in his life :P so I really don't blame him Hogan could have moved his lips like everyone else who as insulted tonight.
I think the fans were wrong in booing Cena the whole time, as he was trying to induct a Chicago legend (I don't mind when they boo Cena during matches and appearances).
And obviously you didn't see Sherri's speech or that would stick out in your mind.

That sounds like it'll probably be true of what happens tonight, but...

Triple H as a face = No.  Please no.  It didn't work before and it won't work ever.

Chavo, Rey, and Benoit had the best speeches. The Eddie video brought back a lot of memories for me. Except... they didn't mention Eddie in WCW, where he actually became a superstar. They act like Eddie came to WWE and was an instant celebrity... didn't happen that way. Eddie did a lot of hard work in other companies. Not only WCW, but ECW and other International federations. BTW, Sensational Sherri's induction was soooooo long and boring, I like fell asleep in my computer chair when I was watching it.

Maybe you should ring the guy up and ask him if you could be his speech writer. He obviously can't do anything right.

Sheesh.
