I've heard "Collector's Edition" come out of the mouths of a couple of THQ representatives in some interviews. Apparently, they're pulling out all the stops for the last WWE game for the GameCube.
They've increased the polygon count by 30%, meaning you'll get to see your wrestlers appear very realistic, including your CAWs. Plus, there's also a new submission system that deals with the C-Stick instead of tapping the A Button like a woodpecker on crack. NO MORE BUTTON MASHING! They'll also be including a Stamina Meter, which makes the gameplay more strategic rather than just beat the hell out your opponent. (And yes, it'll be much better than WWE RAW's Stamina Meter.) Plus, the roster has been lengthened by 5 wrestlers (total is 45), with some (true) Legends that were confirmed. Hulk Hogan, Mankind, and the Ultimate Warrior have been "confirmed" so far. Also, the game will be 100% Motion Captured, giving the game more realism than ever before.
Like I said, Yuke's is working on giving this game the royal treatment. This'll be the first WWE game to be a direct sequel, meaning you'll start off in Story Mode as the World Heavyweight/WWE Champion (and Intercontinental/U.S. Champion). The story will feature lust, betrayal, and other soap opera-like feelings like in the WWE. No longer will it be a battle for the belt, since you already have the belt(s).
It feels, somewhat, like a Collector's Edition. I hope they include more match types in the final build other than just the Last Man Standing match.
