The October 1 edition of Raw reportedly recieved a 2.5 rating, the lowest RAW rating since 1997. This past RAW, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon let out his frustrations backstage and fired Brian Gewirtz, WWE's headwriter for 13 years as well as threatened the rest of the creative team with the same fate if things didn't begin to change.

Also, CM Punk struck a fan near the end of this past RAW after being run out of the ring by Cena and Ryback and into the crowd. Thankfully someone recorded the incident on their phone and uploaded it to YouTube.

CM Punk's Smackdown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7w-L9mN0k8

For more details on Vince's tirade, you can follow the Bleacher Report article here: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1356478-ranking-the-stupidest-wrestling-rumors-people-actually-believe#/articles/1364248-vince-mcmahons-reported-backstage-blowup-will-shake-the-landscape-of-wwe

As far as Punk goes, I hope he isn't punished by having his title reign end before it's intended to but there will undoubtedly be a lawsuit coming WWE's way and Punk will be far from innocent.

Now for VInce, could this be the sparking of the renaissance that the WWE has so desperately needed? I'd like to think so.

Discuss.

While Brian Gerwitz getting fired (the man responsible for Katie Vick and so many other horrible angles) is worth celebrating over, i can't help but know that he'll only be replaced with another clueless "tv writer". Hate to be cynical, but it's the truth. The WWE won't hire bookers. As long as Vince Mcmahon, Stephanie Mcmahon, and Kevin Dunn continue to have influence over the product, it'll never change.

I hate to say it, but despite the nepotism and the politics, HHH being the head of the company some day might not be the worst thing for the future of the WWE, simply because he's a wrestling person. He loves the business and understands the business, unlike these idiot writers they've had over the years liek Gerwitz, Lagana, and Russo. If anything, under HHH we may have a better all around product that's more about heat, drama, emotion, legitimacy, and action and less about silly gimmicks and asinine storylines.

^I also feel like Triple H is more in touch with what fans want than Vince is. Vince is in his own little bubble.

Lowest ratings since '97? So basically the lowest they've been since they had a legitimate form of competition. So it is time to change things up. Get some people out, get new ones in, stop playing it so safe, take a few risks, try something new. You always need that drive to be better, the type of drive competition and desperation create. So good, lets see where this goes.

Last I heard, he was not fired. Just removed as head writer. He's still with the company, as a consultant.

What should the "New Attitude Era" consist of?

Blood, more hardcore violence, Steel Chairs to the head. Y'know anything thats not in the curret PG Era, Crappy Toilet Humor, Brotus Clay, Santino Marella, and John Cena's current boy scout gimmick, Its been 10 f*cking years give it a rest, Hustle Loyalty Respect? I thought you were all Patriotic to troops and stuff not some wannabe Gangsta make your mind up.

And INB4 "Oh steel chair shots were banned because of Chris Beniot!" sure they may have banned them because of him but c'mon who has taken more Chair Shots than Terry Funk, Sabu or Mick Foley? No One! The Diving Headbutts + The Steroids are what f*cked Beniot up. He only took the occasional Chair Shot whereas he was doing his Diving Headbutt pretty much every Night of the week.

Steel chairs to the head are never coming back and not just because of Benoit.

Wrestling fans: "Give me everything that I already liked and don't give me anything new, but I'll complain about everything anyway."
