The IWGP Third Belt.

You may remember that after Brock Lesnar went to NJPW after leaving WWE he won the IWGP Title. Well, troubles came about from his working visa and because he couldn't work in Japan he was forced to give up the title.

However, Antonio Inoki (Former NJPW owner err, I think) made his own federation, the Inoki Genome Federation. He was able to defend the IWGP title there. However, NJPW & IGPW said that Lesnar was no longer the IWGP World Heavyweight Championbut Lesnar kept the physical belt. Inoki then renamed that belt the IWGP belt that Lesnar was keeping the IWGP Thrid Belt.

Kurt Angle then defeated Brock Lesnar for the belt.

Hey, if Sephy can answer this for me, how come NJPW don't just charge Inoki with theft of their physical belt? I mean, the physical belt isn't rightfully theirs.. right? They stripped Lesnar of the title.

If by "trouble with his visa" you mean he wanted more money, then that's true.

I think this main event is ridulous. I am sure many of you do too. Why are they having the company revolve around these too. Unless, they want Joe to win them all and then create a faction to go up against Cage's. I think Triple X + Joe would be amazing.

I think Samoa Joe leaving TNA would be amazing. :P

But on to the reason why I'm responding to your post. I do agree that this main-event is stupid. Nobody is going to win the match, and it's a lame build up to a seemingly obvious BFG Joe-Angle. If it was just a TNA Heavyweight Title match then maybe I'd be seemingly interested.

I don't know what happen to this whole buzz about TNA being so great, I think they have somewhat good wrestling, and also Samoa Joe Vs. Kurt Angle for all those Championships doesn't make one ounce of sences, and when did TNA have the right to put a diffrent companies Championship on the line?

I really don't know what is going on in TNA, but the whole The Stiner Brother Vs. Team 3d feud looks to be build some steam IMO.

TNA is basically promoting the title. Angle won't lose the title in the United States, it's a given. And by the way, nobody is saying TNA is great anymore. Maybe 1.5 years - 2 years ago. If that's what you meant.

This match leads me to believe the rumor I've heard that Samoa Joe turned down a three year contract extension with TNA. I definately think this match was orginally going to be the BFG main event. It makes no sense to have this match at this PPV.

If this is true, do you think Joe will be open to a different TNA contract or will he be leaving TNA altogether?

First of all one man should never be tag-team champions by himself he should either have to find a partner of be stripped of the title. Secondly am I the only one who thinks this PPV needs a new name, it sounds like a terrible name for a ... exotic movie.

I can't even pretend to know. If I were to guess, I'd say he's just playing hardball to get a better deal, probably to move into the ex-WWE pay bracket, which you gotta think he feels he deserves (who could argue). However, I don't think TNA's decision to pull him from ROH and other indies (PWG) sat well with him and limits his working options outside of TNA shows. He may feel that he has built his name enough in TNA to pursue WWE (which would be a bad plan, IMO). He may want to go back to ROH and work Japan. I imagine he'd have no problem getting tours with NOAH if he wanted them. Joe's got options, he knows he has options, and I think he's letting TNA know he has options.

This looks like a pretty weak PPV altogether, but I'll predict the only match on the card that matters: I'm betting Angle goes over Joe again. I'd be shocked if Joe won. I'd also put a high probability on a screwball finish that'll piss off everyone.

The only other match that looks appealing is the 3-Way Tag, which I doubt will get the time to live up to its potential.

Joe vs Angle is going to have to deliver for this PPV to have any redeeming qualities, but I'd be surprised if this PPV ends up being anything better than Russoriffic.

I'd also be pretty surprised if anyone here actually orders it and comments on it.

I think the fact that this PPV thread (and every other TNA PPV thread) hasn't even gotten off the first page, speaks volumes.

Here's what I want to see:

"Winner Takes All" Match (Every Title on the Line): Kurt Angle vs. Samoa Joe
Joe beats Angle CLEANLY to win all the titles. Also a huge swerve happens......TNA does nothing stupid and doesn't swerve us at all.

Doomsday Chamber of Blood, #1 Contender's Match: Sting, Abyss and Andrew Martin vs. Christian Cage, AJ S_t_yles, Tomko
Martin is beaten so badly that he has to leave TNA and possibly retire from wrestling. AJ gets tired of being Cage's lapdog, beats everyone and becomes the #1 contender for the TNA World Title.

Tag Team Dream Match: The Steiner Brothers vs. Team 3D
The Steiners beat Team 3D in what might not be a great match but is a historical one.

Barroom Brawl: Rhino vs. James Storm
The twobrawl like crazy hitting eachother with everything they can find. Eventually Rhino falls on top of Stormafter beating each other senseless for the pin.

Humiliation Match: Eric Young vs. Robert Roode
Young wins and Roode is humiliated by shaking Young's hand and agreeing that they will never, ever, EVER fight each other again.

LAX vs. VKM
LAX beat VKM so badly that they leave TNA out of embarassment

Chris Harris vs. Dustin Rhodes
Chris Harris wins. Dustin Rhodes doesn't turn into Goldust.

Motor City Machine Guns vs. Triple X vs. Sonjay Dutt & Black Machismo
MCMG win starting a feud against XXX.

Raven vs. Kazarian
Kazarian wins to free himself from Serotonin and go after the X-Title. Bentley leaves Serotonin to do the same. Raven retires. And I don't care about Johnny Devine. Or this feud can go longer. I wouldn't mind that either.

What were you expecting?TNA to put one of its original acts or one of its most talented acts over a couple of walking punchlines? Have they ever done that? Par for the course there.

When has Jay Lethal ever been flippy. The closest he has ever come to being flippy is a cart-wheel. It could have been worse, it could have been Dutt. Or Lethal could have cut a promo. Pick your poisin there,

If Summerslam doesn't roll this PPV up and smoke it, something in McMahonland will have gone more horribly wrong than usual.

The_Dude14

X Division stereotype = Flippy

besides, if you had seen the match, it was a ton of highspots and a very X Division style match...and then Lethal does a small package...

edit: oh god, i'd rather see Jay Lethal beat Kenta Kobashi than watch another one of his promos...

"this...is the joke...i've been waiting for"
