- TNA released BG James today. James had been working as an agent and had been receiving good reports from the talent. James has been with the company for almost the entire existence of TNA.

- TNA has also released Jim Cornette. Cornette has been working in the production truck at the Impact tapings lately as well as helping out the younger talent. Cornette has been with the company since 2006.

[UPDATE]

According to Dave Meltzer, TNA's recent releases of Jim Cornette, Brian James, Savio Vega, and Dutch Mantel were all done as part of a larger plan to eliminate those in the company who were closest to Jeff Jarrett.

[UPDATE 2]

- Jim Cornette made the following comment on his TNA release today over at his Cornette Collectables Facebook Page:

"Thanks everyone for your kind words but, we are REALLY OK about all of this. Gives us more time to make QUALITY products for Cornette's Collectibles and devote our time to wrestling we actually enjoy being apart of."

- Tonight at 8PM, BG James, who was released by TNA yesterday, will appear on ESPN Radio in Milwaukee to discuss the release and his future plans. You can check out the show at espnmilwaukee.com .

What's the point of that? If BG did good backstage that's a good thing and releasing him would be stupid but they do it anyway because TNA want to do what they want. Also Cornette's an even worse loss for TNA. But when it came to peaking order for control it was Jarrett, Foley and Cornette.

Power plays are a funny thing. Since this is a changing of the gaurd, it is Get rid of the other guy's guys and put your own in. ones that suck up to you as apposed to sucking up to the last guy.

Jim Cornette for Raw Guest GM.

Jim Cornette for permanent Raw GM.

Cornette has to be one of the most poorly used people in TNA's history. Jim Cornette should have been running TNA. They would have been much better off letting Cornette slap people around. ****, at worst, he was an instant upgrade on commentary. Instead, they made him the single most useless authority figure I've ever seen. It was sad.

There is absolutely no way that not having Jim Cornette around can be a good thing for TNA, even if he had no real influence.

I don't know where BG goes from here. Seems to me he's an unfortunate casualty in this powerplay. I could see WWE extending an olive branch to the Road Dogg off in the future, but not anytime soon.

I sort of did after Jarrett and Foley were put into places they shouldn't have been in the first place.

Cornette should join the creative teams to write something really good for RAW, Or otherwise, I like what Dude said, make him a permanant on-air GM of RAW.

Cornette being released is good. Regardless of how big of a tool he is and how racist he can be, his talent and mind for the business is being squandered in TNA.

The only racism I have heard of in the wrestling would be from Hayes...

Really? He's from the South and work the territories. It should be obvious if you haven't heard all the stories.
