MARK HENRY UPDATE, WILL NOT RETURN TO RING UNTIL 2007
by Mike Johnson @ 1:15:00 AM on 7/19/2006

WWE announced this evening that Mark Henry underwent surgery today under Dr. James Andrews and was not expected to return to the ring for at least eight months, which would be in the area of March 2007. Henry tore his patella tendon completely off the bone, and also split his knee completely in two during the Smackdown six man tag bout on Saturday Night's Main Event in Dallas, Texas.

8 months...? ...ouch... Granted...I will not exactly be missing him in the ring...to say the least...however...I honestly am sorry to hear... Also...regardless of my dislike for him in the ring, he still human being outside of it... and I do not really wish injury on anyone....with Mark Henry being no exception to the rule... After all...whether I like him or not, this man has put his body on-the-line...more or less...for better part of 8-9 years... At the very least...you have to...should...respect him for that...

Anyhow...I wish him the best of luck to full and speedy recovery...

Did Henry ever sign a renewal contract?! If not, he could be release since I don't think no one cares for Henry to be around since he doesn't really deliver good matches out of anyone. It seems someone has to carried him in the match to make it worth something.

The 8 month Mark Henry off-time period~! This has happened every year for the past 8, nothing new. Some may not have been injury(just generally sucking), but good enough.

Henry is a human after all, and in that regards I hope everything heels up as quicly as possible and he if feeling better soon.

As a wrestler, I've never liked the guy and the 8 months off of TV will be a welcome change. I just hope he does not get the huge push when he gets back that I'm guessing he will get. Alos, by that time I hope he decides to move on and do something else.

im starting to feel sorry for henry, during his 8 year run hes been injured virtually every year and only held 1 title, beig the european title. Im not sayin he deserves any push but i hope he has a speedy recovery.

Man, that sounds nasty.  I hope the recovery goes well for him.  He is a human being.

I hope you guys take this time to prepare yourself, though, for Henry-fest '07.  He gets pushed harder every time he comes back from injury, so, this time, I smell a title run.

Yeah. I think it's Karma.  We laugh at him now, but they probably are planning an 8 month title run to make up for his tim off.

Or maybe they are hoping, he will make a big comeback at Wrestlemania, he has enough time to Wrestle at Wrestlemania, and for Jason aka Icytower38, who lives in Detroit and if he goes to Wrestlemania, that would really suck to see Henry wrestling live. :P

But with the push that the fat slob got over the past 6 months, I shutter to think about what kind of unbearable match, that they have planned for him at Wrestlemania, assuming he is back by then, which he should be

I doubt it...

Considering the fact he was recently given another contract deal...you know...despite the fact he considered to be one of the biggest disappointments in recent WWE history with his infamous 10 years, for 10 million dollar contract deal... and with Vince McMahon's well-know love affair with big men... I would say that Mark Henry probably will have career in the company for next 2 or 3 years...if not more...
