Mark Henry returns tonight but it may not be quite the return that many are expecting. He's been hinting on Twitter that he's going to announce his retirement.

It'll be interesting to see where the World Heavyweight Championship situation goes tonight. There's no doubt that Del Rio was acting like a heel last night and Ziggler was the sympathetic face.

Hopefully last night finally ended the stale Cena/Ryback feud and something new starts up tonight.

It sounds like Punk will be on the show tonight but I don't know that for sure.

Oh, if Punk became WHC, and Cena was WWE champion... could this mean title unification in the future?!?!?!?

WWE giving the hot smarky crowd in Chicago a lot to cheer about. This should be the standard after having PPV's in great wrestling cities like Chicago, New York, Philly, Miami, Tokyo, etc.

Did WWE get new writers sometime in the past week? They were on autopilot for months and then all of a sudden they decided to completely shake things up all at once

Well, Money in the Bank is coming up, and of course SummerSlam right after. Assuming they care to build up to the latter event, this might be a sign of things to come.

TruthTellers, they aren't in Chicago. Grand Rapids, Michigan, I believe.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1671262-fear-on-the-wwe-creative-team-who-is-vince-mcmahon-blaming-for-the-ratings "As PWTorch reported, head WWE writer Adam Redman was fired after just six weeks on the job last month. To make matters worse, Redman had replaced Hollywood scribe Eric Pankowski, who was fired after spending slightly over a year on the writing team."

I'm pretty sure we'll see RVD sometime tonight. He's from Michigan, so he'd be in front of his hometown crowd kinda. Fully expect to see him sometime tonight.

This is a really well-booked show so far. All of their decisions make sense and you can tell they're building towards things.

Weird.

You know how I knew Mark Henry wasn't really retiring? Because WWE gave him time to talk about it.

Oh man, I really wanted to hear Lesnar say something on the mic, THEN attack Punk. He hasn't said anything for like, a year. Last time he did any meaningful mic work was with Laurinaitis. Which, BTW, way don't they make Big Johnny the GM of Raw again? I mean, I know he was bad, but he was so bad that he was actually worth watching just to see how much worse he could get. Anybody remember when he congratulated Miz when he joined Team Teddy... I mean, Team Johnny.

I miss the Johhny Ace days. =/

With regards to Henry's "retirement," the fact the WWE kept mentioning his tweets and even had a graphic for it made it the whole thing pretty obvious. I just kept thinking how Edge's retirement announcement went in comparison as far as the "build-up" goes.

idk, I still sort-of feel like that was actually Henry's retirement announcement. That was some damn good acting on his part if it wasn't at least somewhat legit. One last match at MITB + then a real retirement is my guess.

Main Event has Cody Rhodes and The Miz on commentary... Miz is bad in the ring, but i have come to enjoy him at the announcer's table... These two had some hilarious banter... worth a listen
