There is a lot of moments in professional wrestling history that many people remember or see as one of those moments such as the creation of Wrestlemania or the Monday Night Wars. There are others but what's everyones most defining moment in wrestling? For me, it's when WWF started to broadcast television shows and make tours to different regions in the US around the time of territories. With this i think that there wouldn't be a wider range of fans in wrestling as much as live shows without this push for a national profile. Plus around this time the NWA started buliding up too which i think that wouldn't have happened if Vince didn't push the company towards national level.

Too many to choose just one. I'll give you a top 7 in no particular order:

1) Ric Flair's title reigns

2) Hulk Hogan turning heel and joining the NWO

3) The Von Erich/Fabulous Freebirds feud

4) 90's All Japan Pro Wrestling. Period.

5) Austin/Mcmahon feud.

6) Hulk Hogan's babyface run in the 80's.

7) The birth of Wrestlemania

Vince McMahon on Nitro. While not the most defining moment in history, it has to be up there. It was shocking, put an end to the Monday Night Wars, and to this day, the effects of WWE buying WCW can be felt.

I think it has to be the birth of Hulkamania. Who knows what professional wrestling might be like today had Hogan not helped propel it into the mainstream?

I think a big moment was Taker throwing Foley off the side of the Cell and chokeslamming him through the cell. It not only changed the ring, but it made wrestling a much safer sport. Some may say it's tamed the sport, but I think its allowed us to see some more visually impressive stuff(like Hardy jumping off the titantron) without worrying for the safety of the wrestlers. Though at the same time we'll never see anything as cringe worthy as Foley's fall again.
