Hmm this is a really interesting question. I think that heel is harder to play, only because you have to be an @sshole to the fans and they will boo you and hate you (if you play it well) and that may be hard for some superstars to take, like if they don't like being hated then they can't handle being a heel. I think heels are awesome tho, I've always liked bad guys.

Face, because once the fans start to dislike you, it really gets to you.

It's harder to be a face because you don't call the match and it's harder for you to get the crowd to like you than heels to get the crowd to hate them.

Heel, because you have to put up with more BS in real-life than the faces.

in ring, heel. because they have to dictate the match most of the time and listen to what the crowd is reacting too and most of the time the face follows along and waits for his or her comeback (well at least in Cena's case).

on the mic, face. because it's harder to get the crowd to like you then hate you.

Face because you always need to be on edge and excite the fans. To them you are their hero, so if you screw it up they will most likely boo the hell out of you (John Cena).

Heel is also hard role to play as you need to make sure you use the right amount of dirty moves, you need to coward your way out of situations. In the ring, cutting a promo, you need to be entertaining, solid and great at disrespecting your opponents.

I choose face though.

I quoted sephy37's answer because I think that his reasonings are the best. I'd personally say that it's a toss up on what one is harder to pull off correctly.

Face definitley, i've heard some wrestlers say they much prefer heel because you can get away with more and you you dont need to try to get a positive reaction from the crowd.

Some of the wrestlers have stated that it's usually easier to play heel... It's easier to be hated, there's more you can do as far as actions and what is said on the mic... As a face, there's only so much that can be done, because the character is supposed to be liked by the fans...

And John Cena, I wouldn't say that he's doing a bad job... WWE Creative&Vince kept feeding us the same thing on RAW, and he stopped with the raps and all that. He basically became "I'm here to represent and I'm gonna beat you..." Â
