This PPV certainly made up for New Year's Revolution, and I hope the quality of the PPV follows throughout 2007. Considering it was casted as a SmackDown! PPV, I wasn't expecting anything special at all, but at the end of the show, I was left gobsmacked at how great the overall show was.
Despite The Miz vs. Boogeyman and the Diva contest, every other single match was PPV quality, even Jimmy Wang Yang vs. Gregory Helms picked up in the end to be a great contest.
MOTN hands down goes to the fatal four way tag team ladder match. It surpassed my dream match being the Londricks vs. Hardys, but also vs. MNM and Regal/Taylor. What I don't understand is why this match wasn't announced before the show. It certainly would have got more PPV buys and it would have been nice to watch the show with a positive note. It's a surprise nonethelesss, and it was a very, very, very good one. Okay I like a spot-fest, and the match reflected it. Huge props to the Kendrick, London, Nitro, and both Hardys for their five star performance. Couldn't have asked for more from these guys. They showcased their ability and potential in this match indeed.
Now onto Mercury, damn. Okay, so I wasn't exactly liking his involvement in the match since he seemed rusty and unaware of what he could do, but what a way to leave the arena. Seeing his puddle of blood gave me the chills and I sure hope nothing too serious happened to him and that he makes a safe recovery. Pretty clever move by Jeff I must say though.
The PPV was solid, no doubt, but with two scenarios, I wasn't as fooled as those in the arena. I'm talking about two spots:
1. Inferno Match - Kane vs. MVP: Gee, I wonder what MVP was wearing underneath is attire. Not that I wanted to see flesh being burned, no...
2. Last Ride Match - Undertaker vs. Ken Kennedy: Gee, was that a bed disguised under a black blanket when Kennedy threw Taker from the top of the arena area?
Well, I'm just glad I got out of the way. Spectacular PPV nonetheless.
