The WWE announced on their corporate website at corporate.wwe.com that Triple H and The Undertaker were fined for a chair shot to the head in their match this past Sunday at WrestleMania XXVII. Here is the announcement from their site:

Pursuant to WWE's Concussion policy, the stunt of using a folded metal chair shot to the head is prohibited. Triple H and The Undertaker have both been fined for violating this policy at WrestleMania XXVII. WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension for violation of this policy, which is unchanged and still in effect.

Usually a chair shot is a waste, but I think it was important to the storytelling of the match to do it.

i think the both of them could care less...the fine is chump change to them and they both obviously wanted to put on a great show

the way HHH hit that chair shot was great story telling

this chair shots to the head and no blood crap is getting on my nerves....yes they don't need to bleed every match, but for matches like HHH's and Taker's...it just wouldve been even more amazing than it was

Completely different situations.

It's a good thing that they banned chairshots to the head.

wrestlers can say no to doing it...but IMO it's their bodies and if they wanna spice things up then let em

they know the risks and so did undertaker at WM

Yes it's their bodies but most wrestlers are much more concerned with putting on an amazing match right now than what might happen to their brains years down the road.
(see: Benoit, Chris)

Chair shots to the head aren't absolutely necessary. There are many other things they can do.

i know they aren't necessary...but sometimes they do add a nice sense of desperation to a match

HHH was obviously desperate to win that match and he had to do everything he could

I thought it was an amazing match, i don't think they would think twice of doing the exact same thing again. It was about a WM match against the Undertaker

I knew I spotted a couple of chair shots during that match. I just didn't think WWE would notice. Then again, I doubt the fine is anything HHH nor Undertaker have to worry about.

I'm glad they got fined. Howeverm if Taker and Trips were to do something to get fined, I'd have much rather that they'd gone with blading. The chairshot to the head didn't seem strong and wasn't necessary, IMO. It wasn't like that chairshot took the match to another level or anything.

The Chair shot to the Head was an ok spot to bring back what Older WWE fans wanted, but WWE fined them to prove that they can fine whom ever they want.

But I was fine with the Fine, I wouldn't of put it on the WWE's Website, but I think WWE wants to make it seem like it's not a Wrestling Move, since they made it offical that they are not a Wrestling company.

Yes, because peoples lives are less important than a half-second spot in a single match. Thanks for clearing that up.

i'd have to disagree w you Dude, i thought it was an excellent use of desperation... one of the better cinematic chair shots youll find, much better than most chair shots we've seen in the last year

Well... I don't know. That added chairshot definitely made me cringe, but in a "good way". It felt like this match really meant something, if they were throwing away WWEs recent stance on head wellness and lack of chairshots.

However, I'm still glad that chairshots to the head are gone in general. Moments like that... well... I don't know. I'm 50/50 on it. It definitely did make the match seem that much more special; but, it also looked like it **** up 'Taker pretty bad.

You can't just say that he's fine. Sure, he doesn't have any noticeable injuries, but Benoit didn't exactly do what he did just days after being hit by a chair, or headbutting someone.
