WWE Monday Night Raw - May 8th, 2009

At Extreme Rules, The Animal prevailed against Randy Orton in a torturous Steel Cage Match to capture his first-ever WWE Championship. Less than 24 hours later, the newly crowned champion kicks off Monday Night Raw.

After weeks enduring The Miz's taunts, insults and spurious claims of victory, John Cena will get a real chance to shut up the self-proclaimed "chick magnet," as the two Superstars collide on Raw.

Tonight on Raw, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase will face off against Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo. If The Legacy is victorious, they'll have earned themselves a future title opportunity against te Colons.

Kelly Kelly already defeated Divas Champion Maryse once, but since it was by disqualification she failed to actually win the title. On Raw tonight she'll get another chance at the coveted Divas Championship.

So what are the options for new WWE champ if it is vacated? Orton, HHH, MVP, Cena, Big Show or some kind of suprise return are the only ones I can think of, and hopefully its not HHH or the last two.

Sadly, Trips could be possible. Given he's doing a tour in Australia next month, he has to return soon.

I would say Randy Orton is the leading candiate, with Triple H being in 2nd.

I have a feeling that Legacy will beat The Colons, and then have a Title Match either at The Bash or Night of Champions, the latter seeming more believable because having the Tag Titles on 2 PPV's in a row doesn't sound too believable.

Also, if Legacy gets the Tag Titles, they will just go with the Rated RKO pathway and never defend them, Colons will be buried, forgotten, eventually released.

So, who all is watching Raw?

The thing is, that would probably not happen. If Chris Jericho were to return Raw, he would probably just go back to mid-card duty.

On the other hand, on SmackDown, Chris Jericho is the number 2 heel on the brand.

Not that is going to happen, but if William Regal ever does win the US Championship, he should totally pull a Lance Storm, and put a Euro sticker over it.

That was pretty funny of Lillian, but even better was Regal saying we don't need a Jamacian United States Champion. And I think for the first time in history I will agree with Sephy, and say I would wreck Randy Orton. I do have a feeling that Triple H is going to return tonight though. There is no way there isn't a catch to this rematch. I also think Cena/Show will continue and have Miz remain undefeated against Cena. Last Man Standing or HIAC at The Bash?
