I get the feeling that this'll be another bad night for my predictions. I get the impression that this will be a show where WWE decides to be a little goofy with their booking with the unstable nature of things with the draft, but that's just my feeling and I don't know where they'll be goofy.
Triple H vs Cena II: The most epic rematch of all time has been exposed for what it is, really not all that interesting. Without the pomp and circumstance of Wrestlemania, which has proven to be there regardless of the main event, the announcement of this match did not even cause so much as cause a blip in the ratings (or wasn't it a negative blip? as in the ratings went down). Now the match has the added dynamic of, hopefully, being the last time we see these two wrestle for a while. Logic dictates that either Trips or Edge has to lose and this is where I think WWE will be goofy for the sake of being goofy. I think Trips and Edge will retain and Vickie will strip Trips of the WWE Title on Smackdown (as they did with the ECW Title from Bobby Lashley). Just my goofy theory, as I think WWE is going outside of the box.
Edge vs Batista: I already stated I've got Edge retaining. These two have not shown great chemistry, despite having some really good matches with common opponents, so maybe its only a matter of time until they get the formula. I'm not holding out for any miracles though.
Kane vs Show vs Mark Henry: Henry's the only guy actually on the ECW roster. Logically the belt goes to him. He's also Mark "been around a long time, don't get any better" Henry, who despite several pushes has never drawn a dime and it sees about time for him to be shoved down our throats again. Again, I think WWE's flying in the face of logic tonight. I'm going to flip a coin and say Kane retains, even though Henry's the only ECW guy and Show deserves a belt (not to mention, under Heyman, was easily the best ECW Champion thus far). Like I said, this could be a bad night for pick 'ems.
Holly and Rhodes vs Li'l Ted and ???: There is more noise in sensory depravation chambers than there are during most Holly and Rhodes matches. Meanwhile, Dibiase Jr. looks like he could be a big deal. After this much build-up, it'd be insane for him not to walk away a tag champs. I'm going to speculate that his partner is actually going to be... Cody Rhodes in a swerve. (I'm shooting for the 0-fer tonight).
Finlay and Hornswoggle vs Mizanin and Morrison: For my sanity, Mizanin and Morrison need to retain. They probably won't but I'm going to give the WWE the benefit of the doubt and say that they do.
Matt Hardy vs Chavo: Anybody's guess, really. I don't think Matt should lose, but WWE hates him, so its certainly a possibility. I'll pick Matt, because the idea of literally not picking one of these correctly is kinda amusing,
Mickie vs Burchill: Mickie really ought to just be crowned the permanent Women's Champion, as I thought they should have done with Trish a few years back, but WWE has shown that they obviously don't see Mickie as valuable as Trish was. She should win, because Katie really has no momentum (has this match been hyped at all on Raw?) I'll go Mickie.
And I think WWE will throw out Y2J vs CM Punk for the IC Title unannounced, because, ya know, announcing it might have been smart. And I think Punk'll win the IC Title to make a "splash" on Raw and so that HBK doesn't have to fiddle with it when he beats Y2J... some more.
Ya know, I could really end up looking pretty stupid with these picks. Probably will.
